Good Motherboard

MR J., Newegg
7 September 2012
  • Pros: I got this board since 2006, it is working great for all these year. Today I have issue with audio, It is windows XP, it can't find audio and under system device 2 yellow flag. Undate newer audio driver, it still not working. Might have to say goodbye to this board after 6 years.
  • Cons: Audio finally give up.

Serious problems with booting develop over time

Chris F., Newegg
2 November 2006
  • Pros: Nice features, but they don't matter when it won't boot.
  • Cons: Bought 2 boards, had to RMA one immediately b/c it would not boot. Other board and the replacement board BOTH are developing problems with booting. Now I have to press power button 40 or 50 times to get computer to respond (then it works fine). Too bad, board has nice features/price.

Worst Giga-byte board ever!!!

ryan c., Newegg
4 October 2006
  • Summary: Only do not waste your money on this piece of garbage!!!
  • Pros: Everything integrated "yippie"
  • Cons: First one ran OK for about 6 months. Then no post, nothing. Recieved another new one for replacement, ran poor for about 2 months, then nothing! Giga-byte mainboards have been great for me until now. Giga-byte has gone downhill on my rating scale, they were at the top, now I do not know yet.

Unbelievable, inexpensive, solid, overclockable!!!

Louis L., Newegg
2 September 2006
  • Summary: Gigabyte always produce quality product, my N400PRO2 is still running after 3 years solidly. I don't play games, I don't need SLI, I make videos, my upgrade is only $xxx cpu + $xx motherboard =$xxx. It's 40% faster than my old XP2500+ barton, using the same RAM & SATA150.
  • Pros: All in one board, VGA,4SATAII,1394, 4DIMs,8CH HDA. Boot up on first setup, runs cool w/x2 3800+, great software installation CD. OC with PC2700 dual channel to 240Mhz fsb with no hickups, running graphics programs for days.
  • Cons: No Serial bracket, audio Digital output.

Great so Far

  • Summary: Newegg's performance in getting product to you quickly should not be used to rate a product. There are other forums for that compliment.
  • Pros: We're an OEM builder. We've been building with these boards since Jan. 06. We have not had a single issue with any of the boards. You just have to know what you're doing I guess.
  • Cons: None at this time

Just say NO! Mine made it 9 months.

Scott L., Newegg
20 August 2006
  • Summary: I RMA'd this to Newegg (Thanks Newegg!) And I'm shopping for a replacement and it WON'T be Gigabyte.
  • Pros: Good feature set and price.
  • Cons: You've read it here a lot I hope. This board slowly degrades into not being able to boot. BIOS updates can't fix it. I actually had the predecessor to this model which was newly introduced 9 months ago. It's already been discontinued. How can such a lemon make it to market?

6 Month Time Bomb

Ray H., Newegg
19 June 2006
  • Summary: Build your own board with mail order parts and you will probably have better outcome.
  • Pros: It worked for six months.
  • Cons: It started out slow not booting 1 out of 10 after 6 weeks then that number increased until six months later no POST. Very unhappy with turn around and their RMA process -still waiting-. Was told that if they test it and find no fault I would have to pay twenty bucks to get it back. I stripped the...

  • Summary: I wish i could get a refund for another board.
  • Pros: Was a good board for gaming.
  • Cons: Was very unstable after 4 months and would not show anything up on the screen. I installed a video card still nothing. This has to be a bad bios.
