Dies after a year

Jason N., Newegg
1 June 2012
  • Summary: So far manufacturer service is slow to respond. I'll try to get it serviced and will up the rating if it happens fast.
  • Pros: Works well while it is new
  • Cons: I was just curious on the warranty period so looked at this board after it started acting up. My board is behaving exactly like the others, it randomly shuts down/reboots, then refuses to power back up. Tried other PS and now it looks like its a common problem.

Failed at 1 year

Gregory M., Newegg
22 April 2012
  • Summary: I had high expectations for this board, with its price and feature set. Honestly, it's a 5-Egg product without the failure. After seeing the number of identical problems at various lengths of ownership, I have to reduce it to a solid 1 Egg.
  • Pros: This board has all the features I was after for a HTPC build. I don't need a high horsepower system for gaming, just something that will run Ubuntu Linux and MythTV. This unit fits the bill for both. It has interfaced well with the rest of my home theater system with the built-in HDMI port, and i...
  • Cons: Failed at 1 year. Random reboots, or more commonly just random shutdowns. Unit will not restart for ~10 minutes following random shutdown, now only runs for 5 minutes or so.

Don't buy this MoBo

Howard T., Newegg
2 October 2011
  • Summary: When I bought this board I liked the features. Newegg delivery was amazingly fast. It all seemed perfect. The machine came together great and ran with very few small problems untill yesterday when I plugged in the HDMI cable for the first time. The computer wasn't even on!
  • Pros: Easy set up
  • Cons: Dies like a lightbulb!

Bad RAM Slots

Jonathan R., Newegg
26 September 2011
  • Pros: USB 3, Easy set-up
  • Cons: I ended up with both RAM slots on one side being dead. The RAM itself was tested and was good. I'm stuck using one side and running it in Single Channel mode.

NO POST - Dead on arrival

Saket "Saket", Amazon
13 September 2011
  • Summary: I brought this product thinking that GIGABYTE is a good brand but thoroughly disappointed with the product. I have tried everything to turn this on - but just was not able to bring up the initial display.

Short Lifespan

Anonymous, Newegg
14 August 2011
  • Summary: this is version 1.0. There is a version 2.0 perhaps that has better reliability
  • Pros: Numerous options, easy install, easy setup
  • Cons: As others have stated after 5 months the board has started rebooting randomly while under minimal load PC isn't used for gaming, only internet, email, pictures Win7 Home Premium x64. I have monitored the CPU and system temps and everything is under 50C (120F) max all the time. Last week it starte...

Great for a while

Michael O., Newegg
6 June 2011
  • Summary: For the 6 months it worked I couldn't have been happier. So I will RMA it and hope for a good board this time, as I really like what it offers. Keeping my fingers crossed...
  • Pros: I bought this board to use in an Intel build with an i3-540. The board is well-labeled and easy to set up. The software that comes packaged is also good, and allows for easy over-clocking if that's your thing (it's not mine...yet). I haven't used the USB 3 or HDMI yet but got them for future upgr...
  • Cons: It started rebooting randomly while doing VERY mundane tasks - internet, email, pictures. I would check the CPU and system temps and everything was in line. Then this weekend it would reboot every time I brought it up. I did a RAM and PSU check and everything was ok. So I came back here as I reme...

bad product

Pascal d., Newegg
28 March 2011
  • Summary: took time and attention to do everything right for the mail in rebate, and been declined for no valid reason. Gigabyte should choose a better subcontractor company, after being ripped off several times i'll probably stop buying anything from them.
  • Pros: none
  • Cons: first one was doa, had to buy another one, low quality poor design and very unstable product, very disapointed. Gigabyte quality is getting worste year after year, had a serie of bad product from them recently.

Same random reboots as everyone else

Darren E., Newegg
5 March 2011
  • Summary: Will probably RMA in the near future since nothing I've done seems to resolve the issues.
  • Pros: Would be good if it worked properly...
  • Cons: I've had the same random reboots as everyone else :o( For reference, mine is a rev 1.0 board. After several months of trial and error, it seems that the random reboots always happen (for me) when cold booting after the machine has been off for some time. It makes it though POST, then reboots. I'v...
