Died after three year warranty period

Ira Y., Newegg
16 July 2013
  • Pros: When it was working, it worked very well. Plenty of slots.
  • Cons: Power would not work after three years. I thought that it was the power supply, but it turns out to have been the motherboard.

Michael L., Newegg
29 March 2013
  • Summary: Ive dealt with a few bad mobo's before, and every time Ive gotten an almost immediate reply from the companies (ASUS, BFG, EVGA, MSI, AsRock, ECS) usually within 24 hrs of my inquiry. going on 3 months with gigabyte and nothing...
  • Pros: none
  • Cons: bought this board new on Feb 11th 2013, upon initial bootup with basic components (memory, graphics and CPU) I get nothing. check connections, clear CMOS, remove all memory except a single stick, and get the pulse boot cycle others have gotten. got the basic reply from gigabyte (check this, check...

Running strong

Devarajan B., Newegg
14 August 2011
  • Summary: Like many have pointed out I could got a DDR3 board since the DDR sticks are lot cheaper these days
  • Pros: Has been working well for over 2 years. Lot of expansion options.
  • Cons: Had some difficulty getting the OCZ memory to work. Had to refer to the OCZ forum to change lot of memory timing settings.

Junk

Bradley V., Newegg
30 June 2011
  • Summary: Glad to see this board is out of stock, hopefully it will never be carried again.
  • Pros: Looks nice, good component layout and decent features.
  • Cons: It breaks. I have had 3 of these mobo's die on two computers, each time they made it maybe a year before dieing, well beyond the usual 'burn in' period.

Perfect Hackintosh

Terri B., Newegg
27 June 2011
  • Summary: Running this board in two hackintoshes. One is a HTPC with a C2D 2.8ghz. The other is a rackmount desktop machine with a Q9550 and 8GB ram. This system has 7 different VM's installed (various Linux and Windows), but runs Snow Leopard as Host OS.
  • Pros: Perfect plug-n-play implementation for Hackintosh systems.
  • Cons: None, price at the time was perfect, looks like it's OOS now.

Nice Board

Michael L., Newegg
4 January 2011
  • Summary: I have seen a lot of negative reviews, but I just have not experienced any of the problems others have had. I did get the rev. 1.1 of this board and have not changed from Bios version F8 that it came with even though F9 is available.
  • Pros: I have owned this board for 9 months now and have had no problems. I am running Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate with a Q6600 Quad Core and a GTX 260 216 Core. I used 4 1GB memory chips I had to put in all 4 slots - 2 Samsung and 2 Crucial (DDR2 667mhz) and they have worked great. I never changed any bi...
  • Cons: None so far. Just wish I would have gotten a DDR3 board since the memory now is much cheaper than DDR2.

Very nice board-just 1 RAM quirk

Rodman T., Newegg
24 December 2010
  • Summary: I did quite a bit of research before selecting this board, and this particular model met the criteria for my basic, non-gaming/HTPC. Nice layout, and has enough connections for the hardware I chose to put in it.
  • Pros: Low price, LOTS of USB 2.0 & SATA connections, HD audio. Great board for my Man-Cave HTPC. Had zero problems installing Win7 Ultimate 32bit or my Hauppauge tuner (which was installed just a few weeks ago).
  • Cons: BIOS recognizes RAM as PC2-8500/1066, but CPUID shows it as PC2-6400. Running even just half of the bells & whistles Win7 Ultimate has causes brain freeze, and will not wake up from sleep without a reboot (hitting the power switch on the case and waiting 5 minutes or so will eventually shut down ...
