Great for XBMC only

Patrick S., Newegg
14 April 2013
  • Summary: Perfect if it's only going to be used for XBMC. Not so good if you want to watch Flash content.
  • Pros: Playback in XBMC was flawless.
  • Cons: Could not handle Youtube/Twitch/Netflix without problems. The CPU was hitting 100% utilization.

Not a bad board but...

Anonymous, Newegg
2 February 2013
  • Pros: I am building low cost, low power, PCs to run older legacy software and specialized peripherals so my purpose for this system would be considered very "niche" compared to what your average home PC builder wants. Prior to buying this I've built similar systems based on Intel Atom D525 and since th...
  • Cons: Unfortunately, I have a very obscure problem that most people won't run into but cancels out the whole point of me using them in the first place. I needed a board that had true dual PS/2 ports. While these have dual PS/2 ports and work with most keyboards, it is incompatible with the PS/2 pass-th...

Dumping old inventory on us

Anonymous, Newegg
25 January 2013
  • Summary: Don't make the same error I did on this order, read all of it first
  • Pros: It's a Gigabyte Motherboard and I'm ok with that, but USB 3.0 would had be better. 3 eggs on the mother, one on the case
  • Cons: Newegg these are USB 2.0, you can get the same motherboard with USB 3.0 for the same price at other site, you did not make me happy on this sale. Dumping old inventory on us, I know I should of read, but with the case with it, I just click way to fast, now I just had to buy a External CD/DVD Writ...

Great for media playback, not much else

Patrick S., Newegg
8 January 2013
  • Summary: What can one expect from the Fusion platform?
  • Pros: Cheap. Compact. No issues out of the box. Steaming media through XBMC worked wonderfully.
  • Cons: Does not handle Flash playback at all. Stutters trying to watch anything online.

Good with some issues

Alexandre R., Newegg
23 October 2012
  • Pros: Small, quite, not power hungry
  • Cons: Can't get Dolby Digital over HDMI pass through on Windows XP - it always converted to PCM. Windows 7 has a huge 1-2 seconds synch problem for DD sound over HDMI out. Could be good base for HTPC, but not

Nice board - If only HDMI worked

James T., Newegg
18 October 2012
  • Pros: Clean and easily installed. Great Price.
  • Cons: HDMI port not working RMA'd for a GA-H61N-USB3 + i3-3220 instead. Had difficulty playing a Harry Potter DVD without stuttering even with 16GB RAM. Overall Processor speed not convenient for an HTPC type install.

SPDIF = not

Anonymous, Newegg
27 August 2012
  • Summary: Although a SPDIF connection is listed on the specs for this motherboard, the reality is different. The actual SPDIF connection is not a TOSLINK or any other connection but consists of two prongs on the interior of the motherboard that can be connected, not to your stereo system like you were hoping,...
  • Pros: Good specs, nice price point, although the ASUS E35M1-M has better specs and upon closer inspection is better.
  • Cons: SPDIF = not!
