  • Summary: Set this up for a family member whose MOBO crashed. The price is great, quality is decent, and fan noise is bearable.

Great little board, but now superseded by C1037UN version at 1.8GHz

Another Movie FAN "Steve B.", Amazon
10 April 2014
  • Summary: Just a heads-up to let everyone know there is an updated version of this board available now... I really love the feature set and low power requirements of this nice little motherboard, but now I see that you can get all those same features, with just as low CPU power (17 Watts TDP), but with a more powerful 1.8 GHz CPU on Gigabyte's C1037UN version of this board (which seems to be identical except for a 1.8GHz CPU vs 1.5GHz CPU on this older C1007UN version).

My HTPC Mobo

Anthony, Amazon
5 February 2014
  • Summary: This motherboard with used for an HTPC (operating system is OpenELEC) build. The operating system is a minimal install and doesn't require too much computing power so this integrated system fit the bill perfectly. With its low power usage and quite operations I have a cool/quite HTPC that runs 24/7. I love it! I have read that others use it for pfSense which sounds really cool and I can see why but I haven't gone down that road.

Great for HTPC

Chris M, Amazon
31 January 2014
  • Summary: This board is great for an easy to setup HTPC. I popped it into this case - MI-008 Tower Black P4 Chassis with 250W Itx Psu+sata Power Supply, added a stick of ram and a hard drive and installed XBMC and was ready to go. Never any hiccups when watching 1080p movies. Almost silent as well. No complaints!

Matt M, Amazon
29 January 2014
  • Summary: Using this with pfsense as a router for our near-100M internet connection with a gigabit DOCSIS 3.0 modem...it runs amazingly! Low power consumption, reliable high speed performance, and a great price!

Decent Mini-ITX board

David Hunter, Amazon
7 January 2014
  • Summary: Runs VMware, but I needed to get newer Realtek drivers from the community to work with ESXi 5.1. Never tested with ESXi 5.5. Doesn't seem to work out of the box with pfSense 2.1. The interfaces are detected, but non-functional. I ended up going back to Linux as my router distribution because of this.

Incredible value, especially for an OpenELEC HTPC or Linux PC and even decent in Windows 7

Dougie Fresh, Amazon
14 November 2013
  • Summary: Gigabyte will soon release the C1037U version of this motherboard but meanwhile this is a fantastic deal for a motherboard to run OpenELEC, Linux Mint or even a Windows 7 nettop if you don't have a lot of expectations around compute power. I did not try Windows 8.1 but I've heard it performs much better than Windows 7 on this platform. The Celeron C1007U CPU in this motherboard is about 50% faster than the C847 and about 3x faster than the Atom.

The most power per wattage available

j, Amazon
10 November 2013
  • Summary: Really good small form factor lowest wattage with enough power and some to spare for daily computing needs. Stable, and fast. Good deal blows a intel atom out of the water. The intel graphics much improved. I am using for car pc running from 12volts power. Perfect I also used it for windows media center as are HD DVR. we used a USB FULL HD 4 tuner. Works fine plays full HD video at 60 to 70% but remember its doing that at less then 17w. No issues using for that .
