Summary: Again, the Bios is garbage. I would buy this for the features, and it's reliability, but nothing else. Drivers are also easy. to obtain.
Pros: was a great offer, good price, powerful motherboard. as far as specs, and features, I would give this motherboard 5 eggs. However read the cons. FIVE Sata III ports. No, not one, FIVE Sata III ports. No stupid Sata II's, this motherboard goes all out. 4 USB 3 and 2 USB 2 is also useful. Fantastic...
Cons: The Bios made me want to vomit on my computer and go shoot my self. It is slow, hard to access, and difficult to understand. It is ugly, difficult to navigate, and good luck finding ANYTHING you need without a through google search. If it wasn't so chocked full of useful features that most mother...
Summary: Ensure you have a PS2 mouse on hand and plugged into the PS2 port before starting the computer. This chipset is brand new, Win7 does not have USB drivers for it. I do not know if Win8 has generic USB drivers for this chipset. The Kaspersky Rescue Disk does not boot with this board.
Pros: The board seems well engineered with many good features.
Cons: The USB drivers need more work. A USB mouse has problems. The USB drivers cause random momentary freezing of the cursor. This is extremely irritating. Either use a PS2 mouse or a USB/PS2 adapter through the PS2 port for the mouse.
Summary: Tech support is worthless. They presume I am stupid AND tell me to do what I wrote them that I did or tried. Not to mention the advice that contradicts the manual - connect HDMI and VGA at the same time.
Pros: Quick build. Solid 5.9 on the semi-worthless windows scale (due to graphics, desktop performance). Zippy fast though.
Cons: The DVI and VGA connection do not work. HDMI does, DP would likely but I have to use a DVI adapter and after a short time the monitor will error out.
Summary: Many quirks with this board. You can't get into bios using a usb keyboard. Plug in an old school PS/2 into that port and then pressing delete will get you in. Another option is to download their "touchbios" software from their site that will let you adjust settings while in windows.
Summary: I'm not an overclocker - I value stability and reliability with minimal hassle. I do like to buy quality, high-performance parts though, so it's very disappointing that Corsair Vengeance DDR1600 RAM does not work with my motherboard.
Pros: Great features, lots of USB ports, extra USB ports instead of dual PS/2 ports.
Cons: Poor documentation, poor support. Out of 8 sticks of Corsair Vengeance DDR1600, only a single one runs at 1600. The manual offers little help for configuring DDR1600 RAM (default is 1333). Following the obvious steps in the BIOS results in unstable RAM that won't pass memtest. Gigabyte's tech sup...
Summary: Since no cases that I know have front USB3 yet, Gigabyte should have provided a rear expansion slot and cable for the internal USB3's.
Pros: *Has ample expandability - even internal USB3 to connect to front panels; 5 internal SATA ports; bult-in VGA, DVI & HDMI; * Lots of rear ports. Running driver install disk allowed Win 7 to access all hardware.
Cons: - Bios splash screen goes by too fast to read and has no beeps. - 4 of the internal SATA ports face towards the front of the case, making them nearly impossible to access once case is assembled. -Manual is skimpy, not going into much detail.
Summary: After fixing the above problem the board worked fine and performed as advertised.
Pros: Good MOBO for a good price. Happy with other reviews and comments.
Cons: Initial quality was very poor. Had a small piece of soldier on the back of the board that would ground out on the case when installed. Worked ok on test boot (out of case), then would not boot when installed. Found the problem after a couple hours of diagnosis -- should have been caught during qu...
