Bad CPU Fan Header...

Justin L., Newegg
10 September 2012
  • Summary: Not really bitter or anything...I've purchased tons of stuff (including Gigabyte stuff) from Newegg and this is the first item I've had issues with.
  • Pros: N/A
  • Cons: Bad CPU fan header, so the board is not usable. Unfortunatley, I cannot RMA the board back to Newegg, since I purchased the board more than 30 days ago. I was hoping to RMA the board back for a refund and use the funds to put towards an AMD A-10 Trinity CPU/board combo in a couple of months, but ...

Same Problems as Others, Avoid This Board!

Ronald F., Newegg
23 July 2012
  • Summary: So in conclusion, AVOID THIS BOARD AT ALL COSTS! I am always skeptical of negative reviews on parts since more often than not people will report issues rather than "ALL GOOD!" reviews. But in this case it is not all smoke and no fire. This thing is seriously flawed.
  • Pros: It is cheap compared to other similar boards from other manufacturers. It is also a full-size ATX board (though it does not use a full 3rd row of stand-offs, see below). Leaves plenty of room between hard drive cage and connections on the board (SATA, Fan headers, etc) for use in smaller ATX case...
  • Cons: This board was deceptive. It started out fine. I did not upgrade the BIOS out of box as it was already one of the more recent revisions and I did not need the features provided by the beta bios (which was the last bios available, which made me worried right away). I burned this machine in using a...

Do not buy!! Stay away!

Anonymous, Newegg
1 June 2012
  • Summary: Gigabyte should just recall this board. Two board with the exact same problem. I've done hundreds of custom builds over the years. In the past 10 years this board had wasted more of my time, and caused me more headaches than any other machine I've had in the longest time.
  • Pros: I have had a lot of random errors with this board and just strange issues. I also had the last review. I thought I had the board stable, but after about 20 hours of operation after loading it completely locked up again. This is the worst board I've ever had. I've loved Gigabyte up until this poin...
  • Cons: I fought with memory timings, tried every configuration possible with each different BIOS version. The CPU was reporting overall a temp of 70C on the main diode, and 9C on each core. I ran both CPUs on a different FM1 board (Asus) and then got a main temp of 14C on the main diode, and 10C on the ...

User Review

John C., Newegg
19 May 2012
  • Pros: If you can get this board to boot., works pretty good.
  • Cons: Nothing in bios/post to indicate "dual channel" memory, you just have to guess that it does. I have now had three of these boards, one D.O.A., one not booting reliably every time, and one other not booting reliably and sent back to Gigabyte on R.M.A. for repair or replacement. Same board returned...

GIGABYTE REBATE STINKS

Anonymous, Newegg
6 April 2012
  • Pros: Board has been stable since installation.
  • Cons: This review is about Gigabytes rebates and how it treats it's customers. Jumped through all the hoops after buying this board to get the rebate. Just got off the phone with the rebate company rep, did not receive my docs, which were mailed on 2/14/2012. These rebates are just wrong. Doubt if I wi...

JUNK

Anonymous, Newegg
8 February 2012
  • Summary: I've been dealing with newegg for a very long time, this is the first item I have ever had any issues with, and I blame gigabyte for poor quality control and packaging, especially in light up the recent delivery videos.
  • Pros: I work in the industry, I build servers, workstations, entire networks, etc etc. I had high hopes for this board, the amd A-series seems like a good media center system. I purchased this board to try something different form my usual brand. The first one worked well, for 15 days, then would no lo...
  • Cons: Lasted only 15 days, RMA'd it, second one DOA. tried ordering another APU, in case the first board fried the first APU, nothing, swapped memory nothing. Put a video card in it, and it booted. set the bios for onboard video since the APU is suppose to have a radeon 6550 on it, no boot. try to clea...
