Disappointed overall

Andrew L., Newegg
22 April 2014
  • Summary: I don't blame Gigabyte for the problems, things break it happens, I'm just disappointed as it was supposed to be a present for my kids.
  • Pros: Good overall layout Lots of external connections Upgradability
  • Cons: Won't allow any OS to use the full 8gb installed, crashes constantly during reboots, hangs when trying to get into the BIOS after a crash. It was a promising buy but disappointed me in the end. Will be ordering something else and tossing this in the bin.

Works... but not for my purposes

Tom W., Newegg
27 December 2013
  • Summary: Bought this as part of a bundle as an Xmas gift for my son and it's starting to look like the whole kit is going to have to be shipped back. Bah humbug.
  • Pros: Was easy to install, good documentation, worked the first time (to boot to bios).
  • Cons: Can't get multiple versions of linux to see the attached USB mouse and keyboard. Tried many combinations if BIOS settings, mice, keyboard and the OS doesn't see the USB keyboard or mouse after boot is complete. Only one version of linux (Elemental) was able to see them.

Not very good

  • Summary: I have to keep resetting CMOS jumpers. I think it cannot keep up with an AMD A8 quad core processor.

Would be great if all the ports worked!

  • Summary: It would be a great motherboard if my Ethernet port, audio jacks, and USB ports worked out of the box. 2 UBS's worked and the audio works on and off. The Ethernet port has never worked.

Was not a good choice on m y part

Juergen P., Newegg
29 June 2012
  • Summary: Build it for a Friend that just needed a basic PC and he did not tell me about the problem until now. Just great. I always had good results with Gigabyte, using H67A-UD3H-B3 and Z68M-D2H without issues. This board must be a dud.
  • Pros: Inexpensive
  • Cons: Produces blue screens with an unbelievable consistency or it just reboots, other times it produces artifacts on the screen and freezes. Dump files do not help since it shows a different cause for each crash.(viaduaa.sys, ntosknl.exe, ati2dvag.dll, hal.dll). Are the XP drivers beeing neglected?
