Great Board, Worth Every Penny! Amazing Internal Dolby Sound Card!
12 October 2013
Summary: This is by far one of the greatest boards I've owned! It has a very good Dolby internal sound card and many ports all around including 8 USB ports in the back. The only downsides to this motherboard is that the North Bridge gets very hot under mild gaming and also, there is no IDE port if you still use older disk drives (as there really shouldn't be because sata drives are pretty cheap anyway). Both of these problems can be fixed very cheaply.
Summary: Great board, plenty of features. The only issue that this board has is that the SATA connectors are on top of each other. You need to use the included thin SATA cables because standard SATA cables with a full size connector may be too big to fit on top of each other. I would recommend this board to someone looking for a decent mid-range board.
Summary: Have a few days on this board so far. (Update June 11 2014: Great buy. Its still going strong.) + Three decent sized heatsinks which for the price is great. They do not, however, have heat pipes which are a step up from these. + Sata 6Gb/s when paired with a similar hard drive is a nice experience. + Usb 3.0 will provide nice speed increases. + TouchBios is very interesting as you can use the bios and make changes as well all within the Windows OS.
Summary: Had this board for a week now. As others have said the northbridge HS does get very hot. It doesn't get any residual airflow from the CPU cooler in my setup because my CPU is water cooled so I've had to put an 80mm fan over it. It did seem to cope without that though - no crashes etc but it just makes me feel better :)
Build wise the board seems fine to m. Gigabyte pride themselves on this "Ultra durable" technology.
Summary: Runs my 1100T at 3.7Ghz perfectly, no problems whatsoever. Would recommend.
Only 4 stars, because compared to ASUS QFan the fan speed controls are not even close, so much harder to control noise levels from case fans in particular
Summary: Have just built a cheap system using this board, 16GB of PC1600 DDR3 and an FX-6300 (Vishera) CPU. Booted without any problems or needing any potentially difficult BIOS update. There are plenty of USB 2 and 3 sockets, probably far more than you'll ever need - even if some are permanently dedicated to recharging portable devices. Be aware that using the x16 physical but x8 mode PCIe slot will reduce the x16/x16 slot to x8 lanes only.
Summary: I was a little worried reading reports about heat problems after I had ordered this MB, but I can safely say now that this MB is running great and a big improvement in all areas compared to the GA-880GM-UD2H I was running, no heat problems here, easy to fit, running with AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition (26oc idle) stock settings, and Corsair XMS3 8GB, can highly recommend.
