Great Board, Worth Every Penny! Amazing Internal Dolby Sound Card!
12 October 2013
Summary: This is by far one of the greatest boards I've owned! It has a very good Dolby internal sound card and many ports all around including 8 USB ports in the back. The only downsides to this motherboard is that the North Bridge gets very hot under mild gaming and also, there is no IDE port if you still use older disk drives (as there really shouldn't be because sata drives are pretty cheap anyway). Both of these problems can be fixed very cheaply.
Summary: This MB is running much better than any previous MB. I'm using an AMD 955 x4 CPU at 3.22 GHz, 4 GB RAM and the OS is on a 60GB solid state drive. This thing is FAST! I using just 1 video card, Radeon HD5570 and it's entirely adequate for my uses. I liked my previous Gigabyte MB (890) but my memory died. :( Between the SSD and the MB itself this board flies. Booting is faster; Programs load faster; And it seems to have no hangups. It was easier to mount the CPU fan.
Summary: Got this combo 3 weeks ago. It is very nice and fast. Does everything I want. I oc the cpu to 4.3 easy, will push more later but for now I dont feel the need. Can play Skyrim on high with my zotac 560 and 8gb of ram.
Pros: Excellent parts, good quality motherboard and good processor, lots of overclocking room.
Summary: Had this board for a week now. As others have said the northbridge HS does get very hot. It doesn't get any residual airflow from the CPU cooler in my setup because my CPU is water cooled so I've had to put an 80mm fan over it. It did seem to cope without that though - no crashes etc but it just makes me feel better :)
Build wise the board seems fine to m. Gigabyte pride themselves on this "Ultra durable" technology.
Summary: As yet I cannot rate this board as I ordered on the premise of getting a Rev 1.0 board but actually recieved a Rev 3.0 board even though I had hunted for the Rev 3.0 board. I have told Amazon to correct this but they may not want to due to worrying references towards this board but having got two Rev 1.0 both at Bios 13 and using FX6300 and only with the intent to use a Phenom II x4 965 or FX-6100 and seeing it has XMP support want to give this one a run for it's money...
Summary: bought this when on offer as a best bang for buck board... feels pretty flimsy and with it not coming with enough mounting pins so had to leave one corner off it is very flexy when fitting cables so take care... colour is a bit naff the next board up is a lot better if u care for looks... but so far works ok no other issues...
