Summary: Gigabyte sucks. After it died in 2 weeks trying to run a FX-9590 I broke a memory tab trying different slots. Gigabyte said the board was "unrepairable" and voided the warranty. No alternative. Didn't bother to check the board out.
Pros: It looks nice.
Cons: Not compatible with AMD FX-9590 like they said when I purchased it.
Summary: 990FXA-UD5 Rev. 3.0 I have updated many MB, Asus, Asrock, MSI to name a few, and this is my fisrt Gigabyte purchase and my first bios update failure of all. It may be a coincidence, but I'm not sure I'll purchase another MB from this manufacturer.
Pros: Lots of features, 8 sata ports + 2 esata ports the main reason I bought the mobo. Compatible with the newer AMD Vishera processors when bios are updated to version FCh.
Cons: Bios update succeeded with @Bios, but after the restart, the pc won't boot at all. Usually, the backup bios should take over since Gigabyte claims that their DualBios allows the mobo to automatically switch to the backup bios if the main fails, but it's not what's happening in my case. It tries t...
Summary: always been gigabyte fan have had 10 others over the years and had to use this one with 9370 cpu shows to support it will run is all even scores 8.2 but can not keep stable spent 3 weeks working it over and over again with no hope
Pros: plenty of sata slots is only pro
Cons: reboots every hr will not run FX-9370 full out on raid constant crash in BIOS 4 different sets of ram 4 different combo od SSD will no raid 0 and run ram over 1333 and take over 1 min just to boot bios try loading even W8 on it and run gigabyte drivers crashes must reload can not use there utility's
Cons: DOA, a few months ago I ordered an Asrock 990FX Extreme3. 2 DOAs later I got a refund and got an ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0. It worked like a charm. This time I ordered a Gigabyte 990FXA-UD5. It arrived DOA. I got a refund and bought an ASUS 990FXA R2.0 Sabertooth. Works like a charm.
Summary: Darn shame. love gigabyte boards but this unhelpful experience has really soured me on a company that I have been dealing with for years.
Pros: Nice while it lasted.
Cons: Board is bad, sent back to Gigabyte for review. All they said on the RMA was tested and no problems found. Got it back and it still has the exact same issue. Bios will not even load.I don't know how they "tested" it, but obviously not thorough enough. All brand new hardware in the PC. All from NE...
Summary: bought to use with a new 9370 CPU but system crashes constantly. I already own two earlier models that work flawlessly but this new UEFI BIUS is terrible. Even with all temp control disabled CPU clock varies wildly between 1.9 ghz and 4.0 GHZ.
Pros: it boots up
Cons: crashes frequently, reboots often or hangs up.
Summary: Expected a lot more from a 200 motherboard. I use it for HTPC and now cannot watch any movies due to a failed, expensive product.
Pros: Worked well, while it lasted
Cons: Died 2 days outside of Newegg 30 day warranty. Won't even go into BIOS anymore. So much for "Durable" Dual bios doesn't do you much good if you cant even boot into it to change to the other. VERY disappointed this is my 4th Gigabyte board, the first time I have bought a high end one from them. Wi...
