  • Summary: It has been some time, probably not since the Athlon XP days, that I last used a Gigabyte motherboard. Judging by this latest 990FXA-UD5, they've come a long way since then. Gone is the blue PCB and multi-colored slots/sockets that I remember, replaced with a more modern black and gunmetal appearance.

  • Summary: At a price point of $189.00, the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 falls into the Enthusiast class of motherboards. Performance of the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 was excellent across the board. All drivers worked flawlessly on first install with no tweaking necessary. The BIOS of the GA-990FXA-UD5 offers excellent options and flexibility. USB 3.0 and SATA speeds exceeded expectations, with USB 3.0 being easily used for a boot device.

  • Summary: Lo primero que podemos hacer es rescatar nuestro último contacto con un AMD FX-8150 y comparar los resultados. Ahí vemos que pasado medio año, nuevas BIOS y actualizaciones de Windows, los resultados siguen siendo los mismos (excepto en juegos donde el cambio de exigencia gráfica, resolución y la VGA probada impiden comparación alguna). Así que no hay BIOS milagrosa para Bulldozer.
  • Pros: Soporte para 3 tarjetas gráficas en paralelo, Varios slots PCI Express x16, Excelente presentación y estética, Construcción robusta y BIOS madura, Soporta procesadores antiguos, actuales y futuros AM3/AM3+
  • Cons: Tecnología Ultra Durable 3, lejos de UD4 e incluso UD5, La BIOS no es UEFI
