One of the best motherboards I've owned.

Anonymous, Newegg
14 October 2015
  • Summary: The board eventually died the same way so many other socket 775 boards died: Bumping or dropping something on the extremely delicate pins while cleaning the board or changing processors.
  • Pros: Except for some minor difficulty with getting front audio ports to behave properly (a problem in the software that came on the driver disc), I never had any trouble with this board and it has excellent processor compatibility.
  • Cons: none

10/12 update

Jason R., Newegg
1 October 2012
  • Pros: Still works
  • Cons: SATA seems a little fussy. If i add a new drive or take out a old drive the boot will sometimes lock up till i find a different SATA connection it likes. Took off a egg for that.

These boards all die within 2 years.

Joel V., Newegg
26 May 2012
  • Summary: First was DOA - didn't POST. The second lasted about two years and fried my video card when it died. The third lasted about two years. The fourth one lasted about 2 years. I'm done with this board; I'm going to suck it up and reinstall Windows with a different board.
  • Pros: Lots of features 8 channel audio RAID SATA + regular SATA 1 ATA/IDE for legacy devices PS/2 ports good layout
  • Cons: Dies within 2 years. I'm on my 4th board. SATA ports randomly fail or just slow down to 10% speed. Switching hard drive to a different SATA port fixed the problem, but at least 2 of my ports are defective. USB problems with card readers or mass storage devices. You will think you have the wrong d...

Awesome Board!

Anonymous, Newegg
1 November 2007
  • Summary: Buy this board, cheap alternative for learning how to overclock.
  • Pros: This board rocks! Running an E6300 with AC Freezer 7 Pro at 3.08ghz on stock voltage! Using 440FSB with Transcend AxeRAM DDR2-800 2x1gb memory. Memory currently running at 880mhz.
  • Cons: My only complaint is the lack of rear USB ports, but doesn't deserve an egg off IMO.

User Review

Charles F., Newegg
31 October 2007
  • Pros: Good for the price. Everything fits nicely.
  • Cons: Had problems with RAM read errors. Also, my northbridge cooler came knocked off, and one of the plastic pins holding it in was manufactured poorly. I had to cut it a little with a razor knife to get it to clip in properly.

Beware - no FSB1333!

Anonymous, Newegg
30 October 2007
  • Summary: The P35 chipset that Gigabyte offers on other models rocks. You can even get a model with 8 rear USB ports, and 4 more available for case/drive bays! A bit expensive, though
  • Pros: Fine price/performance ratio, but you can do better
  • Cons: No FSB1333 capability! This comes up with new Core 2 Duo's, etc.

Don't cheap out on your MB

H T., Newegg
26 October 2007
  • Summary: After moving to the GA-P35C-DS3R all of my problems went away. The drive was still bad but it did reboot or act quirky when it was accessed. Bottom line spend the xtra $$$ for a more stable board that can handle issues with components better..
  • Pros: Cheap, and it does OC well. Cons: So many issues with this board. It states quad core in the spec but it is nowhere in the documentation. I found later that a bios update lets it accept them but too many limiting factors to make a good Q4 board.
  • Cons: Getting my CD-Drive to work consistantly was a pain, it would work and then stop for some reason. Once I had XP installed completely I had no problemsThe there was the confusing nature of the CPU Fan warning settings in the bios. A faq on GB site recommended to just disable it in the end. After p...

Good motherboard

Claude C., Newegg
25 October 2007
  • Pros: I have had this motherboard for over a year and haven't had any problems. It has a lot of expansion slots.
  • Cons: Should have come with better instructions for installing components. The single sheet that comes with it is sparse, so be prepared to do a bit of trial and error with a few minor things. Also, the overclocking software is merely average, so be prepared to use the BIOS as usual.
