Bought a used major computer component and it works.

Summary: It was really great to be able to find a part that exactly matches the one I had to replace. You can not buy back-dated components, this one being 7 years old, from the manufacturer and you sure can't beat the price. It is pretty technical but this allowed me to fix my computer without starting over. Thanks so much for the OPTION!
Good socket 775 board, lots of SATA ports, 1333 mhz bus support. Its good.

Summary: Good board, this is the second one I have owned. The first one was actually a 965p-s3 v1, which doesn't have solid capacitors on it. It eventually failed after many years, so I picked this one up to replace it. D (as in DS3) stands for "durable", I assume, as the BIOS splash screen has it in big letters at boot. Northbridge heat sink gets really hot, just like my old one, but it really isn't a problem until one tries to overclock the system...
Summary: The product was originally bought to upgrade existing computer. Unfortunately, the motherboard wouldn't post. After contacting the seller and returning part, seller found issue and was able to repair. However, seller refunded cost. I'm rating the seller as excellent as opposed to the product. I would not hesitate to buy from seller again!
Summary: When you build your own computer you know that the motherboard is the backbone of any system. Knowing that, reliability and ease of use is of primary concern. The Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 has both of those features. This motherboard easily fit into my mid sized ATX case, each port and connection was clearly labeled and the layout is excellent and ergonomic. I set this up with 4GB of Kingston Ram, a 2.4 ghz core 2 duo processor and SATA drives.
Great for first time builders and people who want a stable motherboard

Summary: Last August I stepped into the world of build your own system. Im totally brain dead when it comes to computer parts and putting things together. I have a habit of taking things apart and having no clue how to put it back together. Armed with a few books on BYO and help from a few forums, this changed. The DS3 motherboard posted on all of my parts the first time and is very simple. Please be careful with the RAM. The manual specifically says DDR2-ram of 1.8v.
Summary: This board is a bit older now, but still an excellent overclocker for even quads. Got it for $99 at newegg probably a year and a half ago. It is nearly identical to the GA-P35-DS3L. Same onboard audio, board layout, colors, BIOS, everything. If you have one of these, you have a very nice motherboard, even at its budget price. I went straight from one of these to an EVGA 680i board and I was unimpressed in both quality and features for the $160 I paid.
