Blue Screen City / Poor RMA Communication

Charles J., Newegg
15 February 2013
  • Summary: First time I've had to use Gigabyte RMA / repair. Mostly their boards have been pretty reliable for me. This one definitely is not reliable. I am not impressed with Gigabyte RMA / repair department sending me back the board and saying it passed Memtest +86 with a 12 Hour Burn.
  • Pros: Lots of stuff integrated onto motherboard.
  • Cons: Not reliable motherboard in my opinion. Used it for about 6 months or so then it just died. Gigabyte tech keeps telling me that the RAM tests good. I take RAM from existing known good systems that pass Memtest+86 4.20 - including some that are Gigabyte boards and it fails at 43%. Constant blue sc...

17 September 2012
  • Pros: I bought this for my first build. It is still running my computer now, has been more than 2yrs in service. Never had any real issues. Never installed the utility disk that cam with it. It has done everything I have needed it to do and more.
  • Cons: I believe the utility disk actually cause some issue I uninstalled it and never had anymore. Again it was over 2years ago cant remember exactly what the issue even was now.

A good year and a half.

Steven E., Newegg
8 August 2012
  • Summary: I've always been a Gigabyte fan, never had problems, they always make a sturdy and reliable product. I'm disappointed that I only got 18 months out of this board, I'm getting all the same errors as everyone else, No POST, random display drops.
  • Pros: Solid, easy setup.
  • Cons: Only 18 month lifespan.

Faulted memory, 2 corrupted hard drives

Jedidiah W., Newegg
9 November 2011
  • Pros: Cheap, and I got a great combo deal on the processor
  • Cons: After about 5 months of use, I booted up one day and I was faced with a corrupted windows partition. So I did a memory test on my ram, found one stick bad(it wasn't DOA, was working for 5 months), replaced with a working stick (figured this was the problem) and continued. First off, the bios sett...

Gets it done

Rosann B., Newegg
26 July 2011
  • Summary: Used this with ESXI 4.1 and it has been rock solid for 3 months. 16GB RAM Phenom X6 1055T. Shame it does not support IOMMU, need the FX series or 9xx series for that
  • Pros: Stable (so far), clear and simple layout. Used 4x 4GB DIMMS no problem.
  • Cons: n/a

two boards, same issues

Anonymous, Newegg
24 July 2011
  • Summary: Win 7 64bit, Phenom 2 840, 8GB GSkill, 1TB Barracuda, CoolerMaster 310 with 3x120mm fans and a Xigmatek 400 watt P/S. Recommendations: Don't install the Easy Tune utility, update the audio driver from the website. Fix the southbridge heat sink as described above.
  • Pros: I bought 2 of these boards elsewhere, about the same price. 4+1 phase voltage regulation, solid caps all around, great feature set, 3 year warranty, board feels solid, not flimsy like some Biostar boards. Some of the other reviews here sound like they didn't bother with the bios settings or didn'...
  • Cons: The southbridge heat sink was completely loose on both boards. The springs holding it down are too weak. I used artic thermal adhesive to solve this problem. Driver issues with Easy Tune and the audio. This board uses Realtek, but I knew that beforehand. The audio pinouts for the front of the cas...

  • Summary: This is a great little motherboard. Supports a lot of memory, too. Overclocking is a breeze with AMD's overclocking software.

Win 7 motherboard

danhaag, Amazon
14 July 2011
  • Summary: This motherboard replaced a failed ASUS motherboard in an 16 moths old HP computer. Had good support from GIGABYTE during the install process although response times were a bit slow (about 2 to 3 days). Performance appears good. I recommend the item.

Disappointed and a waste

edward g., Newegg
10 July 2011
  • Summary: (Con't from cons) so i pop it in the case set it all up and now part of the screen cant be seen using the HDMI onboard video, and now its randomly restarting again and wont post. this product and the service i received from Gigabyte has made me very cautious of buying anything from GigaByte again.
  • Pros: well while it worked its was pretty good and worked flawless it was the main focus of my HTPC i loved all the features.....for about 6 months
  • Cons: after 6 months had nothing but problems with this board, it boot once and said the bios was corrupt and loaded from the backup, a week later it would randomly shut off and then sit at the boot screen and not POST. another time it randomly restarted its self and said there was an error caused by o...
