Summary: if you wanted to SLI or you have several hard drives or SSD and want to do a RAID configuration i recommend you dont get this board.. the newer gigabyte boards also seem to have the same problems
Pros: lets just say im an AMD fan and i luv newegg! before i buy a new board i figured i'd leave a little review of my experience with it.. although it works fine for me theres several things wrong with this board:
Cons: 1. i have a geforce 660 gtx which i plan on adding SLI in the future BUT stated in the manual, one PCI-E performs at 16x while the other performs at 4x, and that 4x slot shares bandwith with the PCI-E 1x which is where my Asus Xonar Essence STX sound card is.. SLI would make the sound card not op...
Cons: Started having issues after a few months. USB ports started dying, tons of Windows 7 blue screens, just awful. Resolved issue with a new motherboard from another vendor. Been solid since. Guess I was one of the unlucky buyers.
Summary: Honestly, a motherboard should last more than 2 years. Bad form Gigabyte!
Pros: It worked out of the box and was easy to setup.
Cons: Within the last 2 months the board has gotten really flaky. I have a 50/50 chance of booting past the bios when starting up and it's also recently decided that it doesn't like USB devices plugged in while booting. Oh, and Gigabyte's website is absolutely horrible.
Pros: When it worked it was great and computer ran very smoothly and I was impressed
Cons: After a month or so I began experiencing random crashes of applications and blue screens of death. There was nothing in event logs so I began trouble shooting. I reinstalled windows, replaced the hard drive, replaced the memory, and replaced the video card and the issue continued. A year into thi...
Summary: I will not be purchasing Gigabyte anymore. They denied giving me a different model after the RMA one they gave me was defected, which the lab results they do did not catch.
Pros: Very good mobo until it dies out and you need to warranty.
Cons: Customer Support is horrible, I sent the motherboard back two times, soon to be a third once I get it back from the person I sold it to. Every time it has the same issue, errors due to RAM, and the RAM works fine in two other computers. All they do is recommend you talk to the tech support to tro...
Cons: updates including BIOS do not fix the several problems this motherboard has with Windows 7. changed to an ASUS and I had no problem. anyone can do mistakes but the guys at ASUS just try to forget their errors and instead of fixing, they just move to their next motherboard. GIGABYTE: Never again!
Summary: Always thought Gigabyte was a good brand, first time buying one of their boards and it will probably be the last.
Pros: When it works it works fairly well I suppose.
Cons: This motherboard has been a silent thorn in my side since I bought it. Went through 3 video cards and many headaches trying to figure out what was causing the dreadful TDR crash of "blah blah driver has stopped working and has successfully recovered". Recently it has gotten worse and now crashes ...
Summary: UD3, according to the box, stands for Ultra Durable 3. I'd laugh if the irony weren't a cause for problems.
Pros: Works quite well, when it does work.
Cons: Highly unreliable, frequent crashes (whole computer freezes with ear-splittingly painful audio locking/looping. Unresponsive.) when computer is under medium-heavy load. Can't seem to monitor CPU temperatures using programs. Can't seem to handle more than 12 hours of being powered on.
