Terrible product support

Jesse C., Newegg
17 April 2015
  • Summary: I bought this for a new PC build. The motherboard was DOA - no signs of life whatsoever. I called Gigabyte, who explained that I have to mail the product to them, at which time they will try to repair it. Turnaround could take up to two weeks.
  • Pros: Seemed like a good price point for the features
  • Cons: Absolutely terrible product support.

Yay GIGABYTE!

  • Pros: Worked out of the box perfectly with no problems. Works great with my i5 4460 and GTX 970! Also has some sweet red LED'S on the board that I didn't know were on the board.
  • Cons: AMD crossfire only which is only a problem if you plan on SLI but its not a problem. Also had to set my RAM from 1333mhz to 1600mhz but that is only a minor con.

  • Pros: It was tough finding video reviews of this motherboard so I was a bit unsure. This is my first gaming build. Motherboard works great. I used an intel i5 processor, works great.I went for the 3 year warranty cause why not. Good deal for not too much money. I put it in a full case, looks and works ...

  • Summary: Recently got this for a project I was working on and I have no complaints, this is probably the best motherboard I've ever used and I was surprised by the fiber optic part that lights up when the motherboard is in operation (Glows red as you can imagine). Definitely worth the money.

If it worked....

Anonymous, Newegg
25 March 2015
  • Summary: Don't RMA to Gigabyte. They tend to make excellent products (I've used them for years), but lemons do occur, and it seems I got one. For what I am paying with shipping, I could have gotten a much better board. Not only that, but I wouldn't be without a computer for so long.
  • Pros: Good specifications, decent layout
  • Cons: DOA, DOA, DOA. Yes, that is 3 DOA's. First, it was DOA coming from Newegg. I made the mistake of RMA'ing it to Gigabyte (they requested, saying it was likely they just needed to flash the firmware as I am using a newer Haswell). Upon arrival they said it had bent pins, they fixed that and sent it...

  • Pros: Had to set my 1600MHz ram manually to 1600 from 1333. Not an issue, but may want to double check your settings to make sure you're running at full speed!
  • Cons: none

Great motherboard, lots of features

Brandon W., Newegg
14 March 2015
  • Pros: Simple to setup, lots of options in the bios if you like tweaking. Ultra Fast Boot mode boots the computer ridiculously fast, especially with a SSD. I purchased three of these boards for new builds and didn't have a single issue with any of them. There are a few fan headers that are placed in per...
  • Cons: Not really a con, but if you enable "ultra fast boot" mode, you will need to install the Gigabyte Fast Boot application to get back into the bios.

GI Sniper Mainboard

Jesse M., Newegg
13 March 2015
  • Summary: I was surprised by the red light coming from the back of the board; I first thought that something was wrong with it! But it's pretty cool. This is my first gaming board, and even though I'm not a gamer, I'm glad it has some nice features
  • Pros: This is a seriously solid board, thick, and was easy to install. I was very pleased by the high-quality components on it. Originally I had in mind to purchase an ASUS board, but after reading the reviews on this one, I figured it was a better purchase. Absolutely love the UEFI BIOS setup!
  • Cons: None, really.
