Summary: Great board, Love mine just wish they had a used gigabyte g1.sniper or gorilla for the price I got this board. Really a nice premium x58 board. Almost a year later and it still runs great, just remember if you get it as a replacement its XL-ATX so you will need a case/motherboard tray that supports it.
Can come prettty close to getting a perfect score on windows PC assessment

Summary: The Gigabyte Technology G1.Assassin rev. 1.0 (GA-G1.ASSASSIN) Motherboard is a solid board capable of outstanding computing. Greatest strength: fast speeds, reliable technology, excellent look, great expandability. My PCI slots are getting at least 5GB/s. Easily overclocked. Easy to set up due to large size. Durable. Cons: large size (XL-ATX), needs more USB ports for a board of this size. Bios could use some upgraded visuals. Perhaps is improved in updates.
Summary: My previous intel would suffer during heavy applications and with it cripple the cpu. Once I installed this board with 16 gigs, plus V8 CPU cooler, my system doesn't go above 50C and 30% ram. Good motherboard, just make sure that's trully the monster you need, cause there are AMD options out there that are much chipper.
Summary: This motherboard is the best gaming motherboard on the x58 platform. Gigabyte delivers in every conceivable way in making this motherboard do exactly what it was made for. AS long as you are buying this board for the right reasons and you actually read the specifications you should be fine.
Summary: Saw the other review. BIOS flash is no guarntee to fix. I have performed flash updates on multiple hardware manufacturers products. When R&D let's a flash update out your survival rate on hardware is drastically lower. Listing the failures I've seen on hardware wouldn't be fair listing them as most were done on used equipment 6 months or older and when the flashes were performed failures where within 2-3 months with no guarantee it was the flash.
Summary: Lots of good features. This motherboard has a major issue with not detecting IDE drives during boot up. It takes at five minutes for it to boot up. Gigabyte has a BIOS flash that they say fixes the problem but flashing a motherboard is dangerous and you can toast it if something goes wrong while doing it. Do your own research and Google it for yourself. A manufacture that cannot simple test a motherboard before putting it on the market speaks for itself.
Summary: If you are a fan of Gigabyte, This is the best gaming motherboard they are offering up to this date ! BUT BE CAREFUL: This is a big motherboard and it will not fit in any case. XL ATX Form Factor case only This is a list of XL ATX cases: 1)Lian Li: PC-P80, PC-P80R. 2)Thermaltake: Xaser VI VG4000BNSB + VG4000SWA + VG4000BWS + VG4000BNS. Armor VH6000BWS + VH6000SWA + VH600LBWS. 3)Mountain Mods Ascension *7. 4)HEC 98 R9BB. 5)Cooler Master HAF X(RC-942-KKN1).
Summary: This motherboard has tons of features, but make sure you check your case before purchasing it. The G1.Assassin is a nonstandard size and would not fit in my standard Full ATX case. Gigabyte has a list of compatible cases on its web site.
