Replacement is worse

Cary S., Newegg
11 November 2014
  • Summary: Worst customer service and products ever. To bad you can't score zero eggs.
  • Pros: NONE!
  • Cons: This is the replacement board I got for the one with many issues before and now the RAM slot are starting to die. Already had to remove 1 ram module of the 6 and removed the other 2 that are the same color slots. Just refund my money at this point. I will not send back again to wait another 4 to ...

wont replace

Cary S., Newegg
11 February 2014
  • Pros: Nice motherboard if it worked all the time.
  • Cons: Had to RMA this soon after purchase they supposedly fixed the motherboard. I feel it has not worked correctly. Now I am having problems with the built in network and they want me to send it in to be check and fixed or replaced. REPLACE it don't make the customer wait 8-10 weeks for it to supposed...

  • Summary: Great board, Love mine just wish they had a used gigabyte g1.sniper or gorilla for the price I got this board. Really a nice premium x58 board. Almost a year later and it still runs great, just remember if you get it as a replacement its XL-ATX so you will need a case/motherboard tray that supports...

Decent board with a few quirks

Raymond P., Newegg
20 October 2012
  • Summary: The Killer NIC card is an interesting bonus but seems more intrusive if you just wish to get up and running on a network and by default enables application level controls. It's also a shame that Windows 7 does not recognize the card directly.
  • Pros: Good looking, plenty of capability for a now older chipset. USB 3.0 support seems to be quite good. I've even noticed some better response times on a couple of my old jump drives when connected to those ports. BIOS is pretty straightforward and relatively easy to use with plenty of options. I hav...
  • Cons: The secondary PCI-E molex power port is in an awkward position that actually prevents me from plugging anything into it in my Antec Eleven Hundred. I'm not certain if a slimline style 4 pin molex adapter would work either. However I've used motherboards where in a Sli configuration a 4 pin molex ...

Awesome machine

KUZYA, Amazon
7 September 2012
  • Summary: My previous intel would suffer during heavy applications and with it cripple the cpu. Once I installed this board with 16 gigs, plus V8 CPU cooler, my system doesn't go above 50C and 30% ram.

Good Board, Fast

William J., Newegg
30 August 2012
  • Summary: I think this is a manufacturing flaw in the Case, but I had an absolute BEAR of a time fitting this board in the HAF X. The Cards would not sit nicely in the case and lock into position while the i/o panel was lined up correctly.
  • Pros: This is a good board, and is fast. Looks good. Sooo many pretty lights..... BIOS are good. Integrated sound is great but (see cons). USB 3.0 ports are fast fast fast.
  • Cons: Two issues I'm having with this board. 1) The "Netsh Winsock" hack with the bigfoot killer card is really starting to irk me. My iPad won't update unless I do this. 2) The sound card will occassionally make a popping sound like there is some interference. I say sound card because it happens when ...

Better than Other x58 Boards!

Vitaliy G., Newegg
20 August 2012
  • Summary: Overall this board is very good. I would be absolutely happy if it had firewire, intel lan, and the audio was not noisy. However even with all of this I still love the board as is and i'm coping with all the issues.
  • Pros: This board performs very well. Everything was correctly working when I got it new, and it still is. This board overclocks much better than other x58 boards I have owned. Right now my 980X is sitting at 4.3Ghz (I've ran it up to 4.6Ghz on this board) and its cooled by an h100. The creative audio o...
  • Cons: No firewire ports (ieee 13904) Intel Lan would be much better than Killer Lan (important if installing OS X) The sound chipset is not as good as advertised. It is noisy, and when you connect the sound to a sound system it makes a whinny noise and gets annoying so i have to put the volume down on ...

awesomeness

Milba O., Newegg
8 August 2012
  • Summary: My setup I7 960 @ 3.2ghz overclocking @ 4.25ghz Gtx 580 3072g Corsair vengeance tri channel 12 gb (3*4gb) We cavier black 2tb Cm v8 CPU cooler Asus blu-ray burner Aerosol strike x st case Cm silent pro gold 1200w Gigabyte g1 assassin x58 mono. Feel free to rate and/or look at my setup.
  • Pros: Big foot is fast for an on-board inc. I did a little over kill on the I7 960 for the of with air cooling. Easy oc functions and that there is different stages for the beginners and the advance for Ur hardcore ocers.
  • Cons: Ran into a problem with startup. Troubleshoot. I found out the if the ram is not in the right slot it will not post. So u must read manual very , and I mean very carefully about ram positioning. It will tell which ones has to be used. And or how many sticks u r using.

I LOVE IT!

KURT L., Newegg
19 July 2012
  • Summary: I have the EVGA CLASSIFIED LIMITED EDITION x58 motherboard. that was the best x58 board ever made! if you can find one, I would suggest you buy it! the G1 Assassin A1 is second on that list.
  • Pros: I am going to give five eggs eventhough I knew before buying this board that the Marvell 6 gb/s ports do not work....and never will! The 6 SATA2 ports by Intel do; and very well. With that, the G1 Assassin is still really a great board! AND it looks cool too. I love these themed boards! I really ...
  • Cons: if SATA3 is what you really want, then buy the new x79 series. however, do not get the G1 Assassin 2 becuase of the danger that it still can catch on fire! anyway, the Intel SATA2 ports just simply ROCK!!! the SATA3 ports do not work and they NEVER will. there really is no point in trying to fix ...
