Summary: I bought this board early on from EVGA the first year it came out. I paired it with Intel i7 3770K CPU, 8 gigs of Gskill memory, Samsung SSD, Corsair AX750Gold, and Corsair H80 CPU Water cooling. Right out of the box my build went very well. I loved the vertical MB power connector. It worked well to keep my wires clean. The bios was 1.04 or 1.05, (as I said it was one of the first) I had no functional problems with my Z77 board or my computer in general.
Summary: Pros: Read the specs, Quality is built in for use and longetivity. I received this board as a replacement for a z-68 board from evga, I have it paired to a 2500k, runs rock solid. It seems most of the complaints here are bios related again, I have not had one problem. Evga may not be a major supplier of motherboards but they put out a quality producy. The price is high because of the high end components they put in. Again ,read the specs. on evga's web site.
Summary: The Bad: -The onboard features are located in an area where if you installed a pcie card in the fourth slot you will have to sacrifice those features; i.e. usb3.0, front panel HD audio connector, usb2.0 connector, etc. The board could have been designed to better position these features. -Differences in marvell and intel sata ports could have been explained better, would of been helpful. This could cause users to have a hard time getting there OS installed.
Summary: Pros: looks ok right angle 24pin Cons: -Bios is garbage -not enough memory support -blue usb 3 header? is this a joke? -ram slots are a different shade of red than the pci e slots -No overclock potential(i've gotten better clocks off 70$ boards) -packaging is a JOKE!!! -Wont boot off flash drives -bios updates are headaches, most conventional methods of updating wouldn't work Other thoughts: I sent this board in for rma for 2 dead pci e slots They ended up charging me...
Summary: -So many features that it screams quality -Four-way SLI capable (Make sure your case accommodates it) -It is an EVGA product. In my opinion the highest quality products out there -Tons of on board four-pin fan connectors for the quietest and most efficient cooling -Three separate BIOS -Many more features to point out, worth reviewing full specs on EVGA's Website and Amazon's Considering this is as good a four-way SLI board as you will find; if you do choose to go that...
Summary: So far this board has worked just as expected. No issues whatsoever as far as installation and setup. The board has an impressive amount of features which should keep you busy for a while. My only gripe is with the board's BIOS. It isn't lacking in features, it's just very sub-par to the 'quality' feel of competitor's motherboards. It's ugly, awkward, and extremely undescriptive with its options and features.
Summary: Contacted EVGA support, they thought there may have been damaged cpu pins, interestingly I see that in another review here. Generally I have been very happy with EVGA products. Returning the board and will update the review when the next one arrives. Updated replacement board was sent out straight away, FEDEX delivered it on Saturday by actually throwing the box onto my porch from about 20 feet away, it tumbled down a couple of steps.
