Summary: I bought this one less than a year ago, just. It has worked very well for all of my games, and with my sons' games, which are more demanding than mine. I got some vibration in the thing after 11 months. Shut it down and found one blade from the fan came off, don't know why, maybe hit a wire at high speed. Anyway, EVGA was real good.
Summary: I have an older AMD quad-core PC that I've been using for a few years. It had an integrated ATI card which was okay, but I've started playing League of Legends and needed something better. The 9800GT is a great card and doesn't have a single hiccup when I play. Highly recommended for those who are only playing games similar to LoL.
Summary: I originally ordered this GPU to link with a 9800 gtx+ XXX via SLI. While the card functions just fine I had to return it because you cannot link 9800gt to 9800 gtx+ as they are different architecture. You get what you pay for here - very little bang for very little buck.
Summary: I recently built my Dad a new computer. He was working with an XP Home machine from Gateway ca. 2003. He caught a nasty virus and I cleaned it up for him and improved his machine somewhat, but it still needed help. I decided to surprise him with a new (to him) PC running Windows 7 Home Premium and all new "innards" that were basically cast-off parts from me, except for a few items.
Summary: I have never before purchased or installed a video card. For weeks leading up to purchasing this video card I spent hours upon hours reading and watching online videos about how to purchase and install a video card. I finally settled on the GeForce 9800GT and when I received it I was anxious as to whether I had made a wise decision. I'm pleased to say that for the money I could afford, it has worked beautifully and improved my computer experience.
