ECS GF8200A Motherboard Review – GeForce 8200

Legit Reviews
5 December 2008
  • Excerpt: With the economy in the mess that it is in, it is hard for people to justify spending huge dollars on upgrades right now. You have some people that still seem to have some “stupid money” and are spending $250+ on a new motherboard every product cycle, but for the most part, people are holding off on some of their extra spending and using what they have.

ECS GF8200A Black Series GeForce 8200 Motherboard

big bruin
16 July 2008
  • Summary: The ECS GF8200A Black Series GeForce 8200 motherboard wound up surprising me. After reviewing the I knew that ECS was headed in the right direction with their Black Series, but that only so much can be done while trying to maintain a low price point. My initial thoughts were that the GF8200A would be about the same as the A780GM-A, but with an NVIDIA chipset in place of one from AMD.
  • Pros: » Board is attractive and well laid out, » Onboard power and reset buttons, » Runs cool and quiet, » Phenom processor support, » Plenty of connections: 12 USB 2.0, 6 SATA (including an eSATA port on rear I/O panel), » Onboard DirectX 10 capable graphics, » Onboard HDMI output for audio and video, » NVIDIA Hybrid Power Technology and GeForce Boost Technology, » Price
  • Cons: » BIOS could be more enthusiast friendly, » Dual channel mode has memory modules installed right next to each other, » PCI Express x16 slot release mechanism difficult to operate, » DVI connection would be prefered over the 15-pin VGA connection

ECS GF8200A Black Series Motherboard Review

Hardware Secrets
9 July 2008
  • Summary: Even though ECS brought an entry-level motherboard with a good manufacturing quality we were disappointed with the performance provided by GeForce 8200 compared to the competing AMD 780G chipset. But on the on-board video universe achieving a higher performance may not mean anything, because you won’t be able to play newer games anyway.

ECS GF8200A

Clube do Hardware
7 November 2008
