Pros: some very nice features and room to expand. I like the bios interface and the ease of overclocking. but . . .
Cons: I must say I am fully dissatisfied with this motherboard! I unfortunately didn't read all the reviews before I bought it. I am an online gamer and I must say that my old system had a better FPS rate in combat than this board does. I consistently get good frame rate until I enter combat with more than 3 or so mobs. At which point the system seems to throttle the cpu down drasticly whenever there is anything beyond average graphics usage! My screen will freeze for as lo...
Pros: Beautiful aesthetic, solidly built, great price, FX-4100 was easy to OC to 4.1GHz
Cons: Could not get the BIOS to consistently maintain my settings, BIOS would throttle CPU even after turning every power monitoring/controlling function off in the BIOS....and something strange - it would not work with any AMD graphics card! Originally I was using a GTX 560Ti - and everything was fine. I decided to upgrade to a HD 7870 - the card wouldn't work. I tried everything - installing/uninstalling drivers etc - even swapped the HDD for a new one with fresh Windows ...
Summary: For starters this is a good board with good features, BUT when i got into the bios I noticed that there were a few features missing. I noticed I could not shut off cores. I have the FX-8350, and so was hoping to be able to shut off cores. That is not the worst of it. This board has a bogus heat sensor in the socket and if not that, something is causing throttling and without a fan on the processor socket you will throttle to 1.4ghz with the fx-8350.
Summary: bios changes prompt a no post! wow..... but more than two sticks of ram in?... .no post! i bet two video cards would do that too, so i wont wast my time
Pros: has USB 3.0? amd two video card slots? well havent seen them work yet so the benefit of the doubt goes to the board for that because i have nothing good say other than it has not died yet.....
Cons: ECS reps will give you the usual flow chart response that will not solve anything or they have excuses to why they cant respond or do anything about your problems, OHHHH and there is no bios update for any of you who had problems . SORRY! still no update....
Summary: It over heats my AMD 965 the second you try to play any game ON THE LOWEST SETTINGS, so it drops the cpu speed to 800MHZ. I have cool and quiet turned off, I have all the fans at their highest speeds, I have my Tower CPU heatsink in a pushpull configuration WITH a PWM fan set to the highest speed.
Pros: It looks nice, and has nice hardware features.
Cons: Terrible Bios. By far, Hands down, THE WORST BIOS I have ever laid eyes on.
Summary: Also, there is no onboard VGA. I was using a video card anyway, but it's always a nice feature for troubleshooting.
Pros: It ran very well with my 125W TDP FX-8120 CPU. I had no problems with system instability after running various stress-testing programs. It is a nice looking board, with lots of features for the price point.
Cons: The DIMM slots seem to be labeled backwards. When I had my DIMMS in the first slots indicated by the manual, the board would not post, once I swapped them to others it was fine.
Summary: It would have been nice if more info about the UEFI BIOS was included, like settings and the like.
Pros: This is my first build, and I wanted a mobo that would last and be as trouble-free. I had decided on another board, then I thought about my then current box and recalled that it has an ECS mobo inside. the A970M-A Deluxe had the same features as 2 others, but in the end it was less expensive and from past experiences I knew ECS should last and can withstand a beating.
Cons: The manual is basically a spec guide and nothing else. Useful tidbits like "the USB port is where you plug in the USB header."
