Love it

Deja H., Newegg
21 May 2010
  • Summary: I have a old AMD 5200+ that would only hit 3GHz on my old board. Plugged it in and now I'm at 3.4GHz (272x 12.5 @1.42 volts prime stable) Gave me something to play with till I get my new CPU
  • Pros: Crossfire, SB750 = ACC, Good layout, all around good looking board
  • Cons: Tricky BIOS for new users, not recommended for a first build

mobo doa

Samantha J., Newegg
13 May 2010
  • Summary: i am hopefully going to return this to newegg tomorrow and give DFI one more try. Specs for the board are just what im looking for if only it worked.
  • Pros: digital error code display is cool, and the other functions would be nice ... if it worked
  • Cons: dead board. The sata ports are very hard to get at I had to plug them in before I put the board in the case.

Don't Do It

Brett L., Newegg
9 April 2010
  • Summary: First board I received was DOA, it flashed up error code 88 as soon as I turned it on. So, I did an RMA and got the second board a couple of days later. First time I turned it on it actually posted, so I was stoked.
  • Pros: The hardware specs for this mobo are impressive, and would be great if the board actually worked!
  • Cons: I got 2 bad board back to back...

18 months and going strong

Rob L., Newegg
6 March 2010
  • Summary: My third DFI board and all have been good performers. No problems.
  • Pros: This has been a solid board for me for a year and a half.
  • Cons: Agree with previous poster that internal SATA ports could have been better located. Tight fit for cables in my Zalman case, but not impossible. Suggest you take the board measurements and your case measurements and make sure you'll have adequate clearance.

Good for what I got...

Jonathon H., Newegg
15 November 2009
  • Summary: DFI does have great boards WHEN they want to work... I've owned 4 since 2004. All have been great OC'ers but they have all been a little bit of a fight to make work... All except my very first board - DFI 875Pro LanParty Intel socket 478.
  • Pros: Board works like it should. OC's stable once you set everything manually in bios. Crossfire is nice and it works. Nice bios options. 4 eggs for the board. 3 for newegg for sending me an Open Box one...
  • Cons: Keyboard PS/2 caused system crashes... replaced with USB and running fine. Paid for a NEW board and got a used one that was open with accessories opened as well... Needed the board so I installed it. After fighting with it a day or two I got it to run stable...

I Tell Ya Later

Jeffrey B., Newegg
15 October 2009
  • Summary: I'll get back on this one.
  • Pros: It is laid out nice.
  • Cons: Here we go: 1, The NB heatsink pushes against the stock AMD cooler 2, The preinstalled holes do NOT lineup with the brass standoffs on my case (Antec 900 Two). Tried another case (Cooler Master) with the same result. I e-mailed DFI tech support and begged for another i/o shield (I think that was ...

RMA trouble

John F., Newegg
11 October 2009
  • Summary: I've had two boards die on me now, one purchased Jan 09 the other March 09. RMA process at first seems paperwork heavy but quick... but once you submit the paperwork, the communication stops. I've heard this from other people as well at newegg and forums.
  • Pros: Cross Fire (when the board works) Intelligent cooling Good power separation between vital components (CPU, NB, PCI-E bus
  • Cons: Apparently these boards dying with a F1, C1 or garbled debug code is common, check their dfi forum. The abs concept is nice but nobody seemed to pick up on it. The goal as I understood it was to have some "guru" play with the 500 settings and tweak the system and be able to share that profile wit...

No support for Sempron 140

ILYA A., Newegg
1 September 2009
  • Summary: DFI needs to wakeup and update their BIOS again. Hope to see matx SLI motherboard soon.
  • Pros: Great motherboard. One of the only matx motherboards that support crossfire. Worked great with Athlon II 250.
  • Cons: This motherboard does not support Sempron 140 AM3 CPU with the latest BIOS: 2009-08-20. It does power up and says Unknown CPU.
