Great little board

Martin R., Newegg
10 January 2013
  • Summary: I love this board so much and use it as an HTPC. I don't really use the S3 igp because it's just plain to slow, even for simple Windows Aero animations. There were some problems with the Windows boot but the newest bios fixed it. All-in-all this is a good board and I can recommend it.
  • Pros: Uses very little energy, pcie slot (not many vx900 boards have a pcie slot), S3 IGP, red, a lot of usb ports for a board priced 60$, silent mode is silent, good audio chip
  • Cons: none

Move on, nothing to see here

Richard L., Newegg
24 July 2012
  • Summary: This is the most ill conceived poorly constructed piece of hardware I have ever encountered.
  • Pros: none
  • Cons: The driver disk supplied crashed the system. Installation and specifications documentation were comical and no help at all.

Very Slow

Kevin M., Newegg
26 September 2011
  • Pros: Installs with no problems, drivers all work well. Running Win 7 with an external graphics card.
  • Cons: Very slow, processor speed comes up as a 1.7 on Windows speed index. Can't find a way to increase the processor speed without overclocking it.

Biostar Viotech 3200+ Motherboard Combo

Elizabeth O., Newegg
16 August 2011
  • Summary: Yes this motherboard works with Mac OS , as long you find the right bootloader and the correct instructions to have it installed.
  • Pros: Quick bootup, bios screen easier to navigate through. tried Mandriva Os to see if I liked it.
  • Cons: Does not have the AHCI option on the bios even after the update flash from biostar.com. However, I managed to get the os system I wanted onto the system after a few days of trial and errors. It did not pick up Windows 7, it was probably due to the hard drive I had installed. Took a few tries to r...

An Excellent, 32-bit, Motherboard/CPU Combo.

Oscar Love, Amazon
21 January 2011
  • Summary: This VIOTECH 3100+ mainboard is one of the best, Vista Ready, mainboards I've ever owned. For the first time, every port on my computer case works. That includes all USB and speaker ports in the front, and in the back.

Fine for basic PC use

D. Gage "D. Gage", Amazon
19 December 2010
  • Summary: I bought this as a replacement for a 5 year old PC motherboard that fried. I figured it would at least be a step up from what that offered, but that was not the case. The video was so poor I could not play games which easily played on the built in video of the previous motherboard.

Horrible

Christopher John Cheshire, Amazon
10 September 2010
  • Summary: This motherboard has series heat issues. 3 of the motherboards I had died with 1 month of each other. Why is there no fan on the heatsink? My temps were 50-60c. There is a better board found here on Newegg. [...] This is a better board! Will never trust or buy another Biostar product again!
