An Excellent, 32-bit, Motherboard/CPU Combo.

Oscar Love, Amazon
21 January 2011
  • Summary: This VIOTECH 3100+ mainboard is one of the best, Vista Ready, mainboards I've ever owned. For the first time, every port on my computer case works. That includes all USB and speaker ports in the front, and in the back. A conventional heatsink fan is not included in this package, because it is not needed with this 32-bit processor. The 1.6 GHz Processor is fine for my needs. I don't neeed anything faster.

Fine for basic PC use

D. Gage "D. Gage", Amazon
19 December 2010
  • Summary: I bought this as a replacement for a 5 year old PC motherboard that fried. I figured it would at least be a step up from what that offered, but that was not the case. The video was so poor I could not play games which easily played on the built in video of the previous motherboard. I added a cheap AGP video card and all is acceptable - but still pretty basic.

Horrible

Christopher John Cheshire, Amazon
10 September 2010
  • Summary: This motherboard has series heat issues. 3 of the motherboards I had died with 1 month of each other. Why is there no fan on the heatsink? My temps were 50-60c. There is a better board found here on Newegg. [...] This is a better board! Will never trust or buy another Biostar product again!

Not very stable under Linux

Rodolfo Q. Z "roqz", Amazon
10 September 2010
  • Summary: This board is amazing, a lot of features for a very low price, and silent. I'm using it now as a main system of sorts, because my home computer needs are now just a media player and news browser, with the occasional script programming under Linux. I paired this board with a GT 220 PCI-Express board, specifically the Zotac silent ones without fans (But with a huge heatsink, while keeping the silent system purpose on mind), and I'm able to watch FULL HD at 1080p with no...

VIOTECH 3100+

raymond borowiak, Amazon
28 August 2010
  • Summary: I got this shipped the Standard shipping method, Good for amazon they are not using one of the big time shippers. I opened up the box unpacked the MoBo, crikey, the heat sink fastener is missing and broken off and not found anywhere in the box. No biggy, I just put a nylon screw and nut in there.

works good as pfsense firewall

Lester Barratt, Amazon
29 July 2010
  • Summary: Works perfect, using it as a pfsense firewall, with an intel nic pci slot and another in the pci-e slot also using the onboard nic, connected to my dsl; the OS boots of a CF to IDE adaptor. Its stable and fast, did not come with a fan to cool the chip, which get hot where I have it, insufficient cooling - am renovating, and the heatsink fin spacing are to big for any of the chipset fan screws I have, as such the chipset fan is just resting on the heat sink and is...

Sudden Death - What a Shame

shutterbug "shutterbug2", Amazon
14 May 2010
  • Summary: After two DOA's, Intel D945GCLF Essential Series Mini-ITX DDR2 667 Intel Graphics Integrated Atom Processor Desktop Board from Amazon, I wasn't about to give up trying. I have seen and heard about Biostar motherboards for the past ten or more so years. Never handled or bought one for some unknown reason. However, this was probably the best choice I made so far. Right out of the box everything worked sort of.

Nice little board.

WAYNE GREEN "GENRAL", Amazon
23 February 2013
  • Summary: I have a HIS AMD Radeon 6450 1gb gfx card and Corsair twin x XMS3 ddr3 1333 4gb ram in my slimline Silverstone case. Good for retro emulation for playing Amiga and Atari games on my TV and DVD'S. Let's just say a multimedia PC. Great board performance is ok for my needs. Sadly Downside: I wish it had 64bit architecture and 512k instead of 128k + SSE3 and SSE 3 S would have made the cpu better or higher like a dual for example and more memory cache.
