Great board!

Michael W., Newegg
27 May 2013
  • Summary: People complaining about the bios not saving their settings: I learned you need to save them to a profile, if you don't and the system doesn't boot (even though sometimes it looks like it boots fine when it completely fails) it will go back to factory settings.
  • Pros: -Aesthetics are awesome on this board, black pcb with a flair of orange and black heat sinks. -Overclocked my i5-3570k to 4.5Ghz without issue, took more juice than I like but that's more the chips fault. -Transferable warranty, since it's serial number based. -Biostar quality, I don't know why s...
  • Cons: -More of a nitpick, but the board is sensitive to bad overclocks and sometimes when it crashes on one try it will go back to the factory settings ruining your progress.

Pretty impressed overall

Erik V., Newegg
18 April 2013
  • Summary: I'm happy with the purchase overall. Couldn't have found a better color scheme for what I wanted as the end result (although the red LED under the audio chipset doesn't really match anything?). The board runs really well/stable (once you get your OC right).
  • Pros: Great color scheme that matches my custom build well. Matte black PCB and orange is a perfect orange (nothing too red, etc). BIOS is OK, most mice don't work in it (unless you have a ps/2 mouse laying around)! Got my 3570k to 4.8 on water, would like to go higher, but it doesn't want to w/o a sig...
  • Cons: No 4pin molex on-board (but I know I shouldn't expect that at this price point). OC settings are applied prior to post, so if it fails to boot, you have to reset cmos, because the BIOS will actually lock up if the OC attempt isn't stable. You may spend a lot of time resetting default values each ...

  • Summary: This is a great motherboard for the money. I dont have any complaints. The bios is sraight forward and easy to follow. The only draw back is Im getting a buzz in my speakers. I dont know if it's from the motherboard or the speakers themselves.

Works like a charm

Russell C., Newegg
9 January 2013
  • Pros: Built my system about 6 months ago and everything is still working fine. The motherboard has excellent bios setups that you can access on start up or from within windows that makes customizing and introduction to overclocking all very nice.
  • Cons: none

Excellent Mobo

Kenneth N., Newegg
5 January 2013
  • Summary: Very stable. I recommend this board to those of you who like me don't feel obligated to stick to other brands.
  • Pros: Excellent build quality and feature set. Built new system, booted up and flashed new bios via "F12" at POST. Recognized my corsair XMS 4x4GB @ 1600. Easy overclock of i5 from 3.4 to 4.4 on stock cooler. Nice BIOS menus. Plenty of ports. Nice they give you the two SLI connectors and other interfac...
  • Cons: For my use (gaming) in a HAF922 case, there are no cons to list.

Very Good

Gina H., Newegg
12 December 2012
  • Summary: Ive owned asrock z68 and Asus z68...i know this is z77 but im still going to compare and say this biostar is better than both mentioned in every bracket. Its tastefull to the eye in quality and coor.
  • Pros: Solid board all round, samsung green Memory at 2133 no problems, oc's my 3750k @ 4.2 at a very low 1.12v core stable on all intel burn in tests. Memtest rock solid too. Also had very good oc'ing on the Igpu side of the clock. play bf3 on med-lows at low res.
  • Cons: Wish it included a better audio codec, all-though it boasts amazing audio i still think creatives xfi series is still a better sound. Id like to see more advanced Audio.

Ryan V., Newegg
4 October 2012
  • Summary: running: i5 3750K @ 3.8ghz Gskull 16gb ram ddr3 1866 SLI 660ti Everything works like a charm!
  • Pros: When you think of motherboards, the first one that comes to mind is not a Biostar. But i must say this boards ROCKS! It looks really nice and the orange/black combo is a plus. You have more than enough slots on the board and 2 PCIe 3.0 which is a great for a nice video card. You also have a PCI s...

AWESOME

DENNIS L., Newegg
21 September 2012
  • Summary: If you do not plan on using more than 2 high-end gpus, then look no further. The 13 phase will take care of your oc'ing needs.
  • Pros: Got my i7 SB to 5GHz with the just multiplier and bumping the vcore to 1.42v.
  • Cons: Driver for LAN is inexistent at the company website. Good thing I am using a USB wireless adapter.

Great Buy

GARY C., Newegg
19 September 2012
  • Summary: Bios was a small tradeoff for the performance/price ratio This is my first Biostar and I am impressed!
  • Pros: Great layout! Installed an Ivy Bridge 3750 and was up and running in no time. Upgraded from LGA775(Q9550) and I almost doubled most benchmarks. Lower heat output was very noticible also.
  • Cons: Bios are a little more complex than I thought they should've been.
