Bad to the bone Board

Louis S., Newegg
8 March 2015
  • Summary: I've been running an Intel Sandy Bridge 10 mb L3, and now upgrading to a 15 MB L3. I will use this board till it dies, because it's been the most reliable board I have ever purchased.
  • Pros: This has been one of my best MOBO in a long time. This thing runs the new UEFI Bios, which is so awesome, as far as interaction is concerned. I haven't have anything but good come of out this blazing fast MOBO.
  • Cons: It wasn't free?..

Great board, highly recommended

Clint M., Newegg
19 December 2013
  • Summary: *Originally got some silly CMOS error. Turned out the date on the computer was wrong. It was ahead by a day, so as soon as I changed it around the error was gone. *Out of box settings for the SATA was IDE. I figured it out after and changed it to AHCI.
  • Pros: *Really amazing features for the price. I mean hands down, the board just performs beautifully. *LED Lights around board (they're red). Didn't know the board came with them. Pretty nice to have. *CPU temp display on the board itself *Easy reset buttons directly on the motherboard. This is the 1st...
  • Cons: *BIOS is clunky, but manageable. Just be prepared to take some time to learn it. If you're really lazy and want easy, then choose another vendor. I knew it was gonna be like this before I bought it.

Support 2nd to none!

Louis S., Newegg
16 November 2013
  • Summary: When I bought this mobo, it was my first experience with the UEFI bios. There is a desktop icon on flashing your BIOS, keeping it up to date. I used this utility and my mobo froze up, losing access to my computer.
  • Pros: This has got to be one of the best performing mobo's I've ever built. This is the second one I've purchased, running the same i7 processor. There is plenty of USB 3.0 ports, and expansions in the event you want to connect more electronics, or using it for a small business
  • Cons: The UEFI Bios isn't as friendly as I expected it to be, but that is from my own ignorance, not the problems of the maker.

Kathy R., Newegg
15 November 2013
  • Pros: This is a great buy for this motherboard. $189 is a steal! Im building a new system using a Ivy E cpu, and I am highly considering this motherboard. NEW BIOS RELEASED! Supports 4820K, 4930K, and 4960X Not to mention, this motherboard has 6X usb 3.0 ports, and 4X sata 6Gbps ports. 3x PCI-E, 3.0 X1...
  • Cons: Uses analog VRM control. And not digital, like most motherboards. Does not affect performance though.

Excellent Motherboard. King of the Price/Performance LGA 2011 Mobo

Anonymous, Newegg
11 April 2013
  • Summary: Installed a 3930K , 16GB of ddr3-2133 ram 4x4GB G. Skill , MSI HD7970 Lightning , 2x Samsung 830 128GB Raid0 OS and 1 WD 1TB HD for storage. PC Power & Cooling MK-2 750w. Running like a champ , zero , nada problems so far.
  • Pros: Price/Performance Ratio. Very Stable , looks good. It hangs at the same performance as the most expensive ones that double the price of this hidden Gem. Everything working flawlessly 100%.
  • Cons: None at this price.

Great so far!

CHRISTOPHE A., Newegg
29 March 2013
  • Summary: No regrets, a $25 fan controller makes this the perfect board.
  • Pros: A lot of great features for a board that is relatively affordable, as far as X79 boards go anyway. Sturdy construction and an easy layout to work with adds to the appeal of this component. Looks good in the case too!
  • Cons: Lack of fan headers makes buying a fan controller a must.

So far very good

Scott W., Newegg
26 February 2013
  • Pros: First board was flaky, easy RMA, second board has done everything I've asked from it. BioStar tech support was very good and expeditious. Having had issues with the other two big MoBo boys tried BioStar, certainly look at them again at upgrade time.
  • Cons: Not enough SATA 6gb ports

WOW what a great board!

Adam R., Newegg
1 December 2012
  • Summary: while maybe not the Swankest 2011 board on the block its definetly got the price point and quality all shored up. i give them 3 thumbs up on this one
  • Pros: Its got everything i need and more. the price is great the product is wounderfull and most importantly it POSTS. iv allways been a little leary of biostar in the past as they have a reputation to cut some corners on their lower end products but this has really been an Eye opener and i can say the...
  • Cons: Most LGA 2011 boards support 8 dimms at 64gb ram.... not that i need that but haveing the option would have been nice. but since that probably took the price down $60 im not going to complain to much
