Sweet Deal

SLOAN S., Newegg
7 April 2014
  • Pros: I've had this board for maybe 5 years now? No problems whatsoever and the first CPU I had in it I was able to unlock two cores, which was amazing. It's April 2014 and I'm running a Phenom II 965 at 3.9ghz with a GTX 770 for video and getting really good performance in Battlefield 4. I honestly ca...
  • Cons: 5 years and no problems? no con to speak of here.

David J., Newegg
14 November 2010
  • Summary: Basically said what i need to say.. OH leds are a big help.. first boot wasnt successful.. i noticed second LED was not on but all i had to do was reseat the ram.. (2nd LED is for chipset and 1st is for CPU) so problem solved.. Good Board.
  • Pros: PCIe 2.0 is nice and fast.. Got ACC support so i unlock extra cores on my CPU into a Quad Core.. 4 Ram slots is a plus plus.. Main reason i got this board.. Sata ran effortlessly.. OC the processor using V6 V8 V12 tech engine automatic overclock.. Used for lazy people who dont feel like overclock...
  • Cons: PCIe and PCI slots.. Well you already knew when you bought it wasnt much room for expansion.. But other than a video card what do you do with regular PCI slots anyways? LOL Sound card in which you can put in last slot :) so not really a con for me just no Dual GPUs.. in which i dont need because ...

so-so

Richard O., Newegg
12 March 2010
  • Pros: It works
  • Cons: Only two PCI slots, no RS-232 port, only one PCIe slot. Onboard video is hit-and-miss under linux's radeonhd module - sometimes it's detected, sometimes it's not... and it's always confused as to what its properties are (memory, etc). I dropped an egg because of the video support, but in my case ...

User Review

steven k., Newegg
24 February 2010
  • Summary: Great board. I bought it as a combo with a AMD Phenom x3 processor (2.4 GHz). I was able to overclock it to 2.88 GHz with just a click on the BIOS.
  • Pros: Easy to install. Nice hard copy instruction manual. Overclocking was a breeze with the built in overclocking V6, V8, V12 options (like a car engine - more cylinders = more power).
  • Cons: None.

BIOS is not AM3/AM2+ Compatible

David K., Newegg
18 January 2010
  • Pros: Looks nice and has pretty colored sockets. Fits well in the case.
  • Cons: Claims to be AM2/AM2+/AM3 compatible, but will not recognize the AM3 Phenom II it was bundled with. The manual states to install an AM2 CPU and update the BIOS before installing the new CPU.

Great

Steven S., Newegg
26 December 2009
  • Summary: Also this may just be my heat sink but i had trouble getting it on the heatsink clips
  • Pros: Very nice bios easy to over clock for new users. Booted up right away has worked very well since i like this mobo very much
  • Cons: I took off one star because the pci slots are way too close to the pci-e slot but it is a micro board so i can't complain to much i would still recommend this to my friends.
