Summary: 5 Out of 5 Bought this in Aug. of 2006 from NewEgg with a P4 3Ghz Processor as a combo deal. And in this case, many of the peripherals were bought from AMAZON.COM As of 06/20/2012, This project is still going strong. A few replacements along the way have been ordered from Amazon.com such as: Replaced CD ripper with DVD ripper, Power supply from 400 watts to 640 watts. and so on....
Summary: I've used this mobo in a budget gaming rig for many years, didn't give me any problems at all. I was able to update the BIOS without any issues, ran Windows XP smoothly. Won't except a lot of RAM, but it is an old board... was great back in the day. Would be a fine replacement for an older system you can't afford to replace outright.
Summary: BIOSTAR used supply solid computer components. You could count on them to work. THEY NOW SELL JUNK! Not worth the risk; customer service is spotty at best, and when you DO finally get them to respond, they look for reasons NOT to allow RMA! YOU ARE STUCK with bad product and on top of that, once they get you all frustrated and angry, you have to go shopping and drop another $150 elsewhere! Just do it right the first time; move on and never look back!!!
Summary: i bought this mb a couple years ago, it work but very slow! 1 year after buying it it stoped decting my hard drive so i got another one still didn't work i changed everything but nothing worked so my advice to every one out there DON"T BUY BIOSTAR!!!!! DON"T DO IT MAN, DON"T DO IT! If u already have one you should snap it in half! i bought a gigabyte with i should have bought in the first place but didn't have the money lol but it works good.
Summary: That was the length of time, the mobo lasted. I replaced it 2 months after install, no warning just cuts out. I spent another 270 having the mobo replaced and installed and lasted from 10/08 to present. I would not go for this board if you want it to last longer than 2 years. I only have a bad review and rating because the amount of money I had to spend to find out how good it was, the performance was very good and with more ram could have been much better (1g/ddr2).
Summary: For the first time I use a 478 socket intel processor 3.2 Gh.in an Intel motherboard. Then I found this BIOSTAR MoBo in a marketplace store about 2 years ago, I use it until it dies (maybe a damage from a brownout). browsing AMAZON.COM found the same MoBo, but the reviews were not so good. I try to use again the processor and the memory modules, Even the same HDD with the OS W XP Home SP3. And It works !!!. I qualify 5 stars this item. And all the people from AMAZON.COM.
Summary: This is a very good motherboard. I had an old PC that was not working so I decided to replace the motherboard. I took the old motherboard out of the case salvaged all of the parts especially the CPU and I got some DDR2 memory for a reasonable price. Put everything together and loaded Windows XP operating system and I had a nice brand new computer faster than the original.
Pros: Well I like that if you want PCI XPRESS you have it and to be able to have [IntelP4hyper threathing,] like having two processors.
Cons: BIOSTAR WHEN IT COMES too given customer service it stinks dont mean to be so rude, but bottom line is no matter how little money i have spend on this mobo to me is a prelude of this to expect from biostar.dont get me wrong i am still using it.
