Served me well for 2.5 years

Kathy O., Newegg
20 December 2012
  • Pros: For the price it is a great motherboard.
  • Cons: The USB ports died on me after 2.5 years. I would say this is a good lifetime for a motherboard.

Bad support

Anonymous, Newegg
24 March 2011
  • Summary: I've owned other Biostar boards before, and had no problems. However, Biostar does not answer through eSupport. I had to initiate RMA process to get some vague feedback. I don't support companies who don't support their own customers, so this is the last Biostar product I'll ever buy.
  • Pros: It works if you know how to make it work (see Cons).
  • Cons: I have to power on and shutdown immediately, then power on again to make it work, otherwise I get blue screens within the first 5 minutes of the PC being on, 100% of the time.

Good Board for Low Price

Davis U., Newegg
10 August 2010
  • Summary: This was my first build, and for a gaming PC, this motherboard was very important in the balance between performance/cost. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a simple board that does the job.
  • Pros: Very inexpensive, does everything I need for my light gaming/video editing build. DDR3 Memory!! Handles bf bad company 2 well, on-board audio is great (HD) and it booted no problem first time. Haven't had any issues, and I am quite pleased.
  • Cons: No FIREWIRE. I didn't realize until after purchased, but I'm going to pick up a Firewire 1394a PCI card for like $15 bucks. Only 2 ram slots. Large video card pretty much takes up ALL pci slots.

Excellent Value Board

Julie H., Newegg
9 August 2010
  • Summary: We use this board for standard workstation builds here at a department for a major university for the past 3 months and have had no issues whatsoever. Paired with a AMD Athlon II X2 255 Regor 3.1GHz and 2 or 4GB DDR3 1333, these builds provide excellent performance for our standard users for a third...
  • Pros: Excellent board for the price. Stable, does not seem to generate much heat. Dual monitors out of the box. What you need for a standard desktop config is all onboard.
  • Cons: Has not been in stock recently. Needs to be consistently available. Maybe more than 2 SATA cables?

lean, but good

Matthew S., Newegg

  • Pros: This is a simple board with a simple layout. Everything worked out of the box. I was able to unlock a dual core business class chip into a quad core chip by simply switching the acc funtion to auto. I've seen no issues with stability. In spite of the smaller size I was able to successfully instal...
  • Cons: None.

Great Value/Price Ratio.

Lori R., Newegg
6 August 2010
  • Summary: buy it.
  • Pros: I actually bought this board with low expectations, I've always ran with MSI and Asus, so naturally I was hesitant to change it up. The price was 55$ total and this being an AM3/DD3 board I simply couldn't pass it up. Firstly the newest version was sent, nothing but the color was changed, a pleas...
  • Cons: no dd3 1600.

Brian H., Newegg
3 August 2010
  • Summary: My computer kept freezing when installing Windows 7. The solution was to make sure nothing was plugged into the usb ports during install.
  • Pros: Great mobo for users who don't need all the bells and whistles.
  • Cons: None so far.
