  • Summary: When I received my shipment few of the wires in the box were missing. Also it was not packaged properly so the cpu socket covers popped out, and I had bent pins inside.

With Nvidia gtx 780, it's lucky if it boots.

whatever, Amazon
4 December 2013
  • Summary: The board doesn't even _know_ how to spell "Stable". It might be ok with other graphics cards, but With the GTX780, I'm lucky to get it to boot to Windows. Frequently, if it DOES get into Windows, all I get is a black screen when Windows tries to initialize the graphics card. The worst problem is with SLOT 1- which is where you're SUPPOSED to put the graphics card. It boots alright 1/3-4 times in Slot 3, and about the same in slot 5 and 7.

Not Compatible with GTX 690 Cards

HenriqueMenezes, Amazon
14 November 2013
  • Summary: I bought one ASUS Z9PE-D8 WS motherboard and 4 GTX 690 cards and the motherboard only recognizes only one GTX 690 card. I researched and saw that other people had the same problem. I tried to find a solution on the website of ASUS and EVGA and so far I had no success. And I'm still looking for some firmware that solves the problem of the motherboard.

Big money wasted

nims, Amazon
22 June 2013
  • Summary: I bought this motherboard with an Intel 2687w in hopes of having a powerful machine to work on. Unfortunately, after 1 week, the board never powers on anymore. I will say during that first week, it was an okay experience (I have an nVidia GPU, so had to jump through hoops to get the BIOS flashed, first). However, now I have a bunch of equipment that's useless, as the board won't even power up anymore.

Think twice before buying this expensive board. Read the reviews, do your homework

  • Summary: I have called in several times and typically have to wait on the phone between an hour and a half. I am then told I would get a call back which never happens.
  • Pros: NewEgg's tech support is far superior to what Asus has been able to provide thus far. I will continue to purchase from them.
  • Cons: I finally received my two Asus GTX 690 video cards in August that I ordered back in May of this year. I then purchased your Z9PE-D8 WS motherboard for my setup and included two Xeon E5-2687 W processors. It is a piece of garbage because Asus didnt think to test these Asus graphics cards with this motherboard or else you would have realized that they are not compatible. I have been waiting three weeks for the issue to be resolved. Finally after the first week I got asu...

do not buy

tollyno1, Amazon
16 October 2012
  • Summary: I bought this motherboard and like the previous review this motherboard is not forward compatible and I updated my bios to the latest version and now the motherboard doesn't work. Do not bother contacting Asus as they are just plain stubborn in believing that nothing is wrong with the motherboard and will not except it. Thanks to Asus I now have about 2000 pound paper weight.
