great board

Matthew B., Newegg
4 May 2015
  • Summary: I would suggest to ASUS that if they supplie hardware that CAN fail, they should offer some way of getting replacement parts for that hardware. They have a great lack of replacement equipment on their website.
  • Pros: Easy plug in. Doesn't feel too delicate, so I felt more confident handling the board. Awesome control systems for monitoring temp/overclocking etc... Works great with my selected components.
  • Cons: Mini-fan failed on me. My system, with a SSD, is very quiet, even gaming. When one of the 30mm fans failed on the board recently, it made an aweful racket, that scared me out of my seat. I couldn't find replacement fans from ASUS, so I tried aftermarket. Nothing with an exact match, so rather tha...

Aftermarket cooler issues

Mark D., Newegg
15 June 2014
  • Pros: It has worked for 3 years with very few issues.
  • Cons: The reinforced CPU backplate makes it difficult or impossible to install aftermarket coolers because the reinforcing bracket won't fit on the back of the mobo or the screws/standoffs will be too short from not being flush with the board. I cannot tell you how frustrating having to take sandpaper ...

User Review

Nicholas I., Newegg
14 December 2013
  • Summary: Aside from my issue I would highly recommend this board to any system builder. In hindsight this board may be a little overboard for what I do with it, but hell, I love it.
  • Pros: This Mobo is awesome and was part of my very first build. I've had it for about a year now and there is really nothing I can say bad about it. Plenty of extra connections and it fit inside my case perfectly.
  • Cons: I deducted one egg for the fact that after about six months I started to have some video card issues. After RMAing my card twice I discovered (through Asus support which is amazing by the way) that the number one PCIe slot is bad. I'm not sure if this was caused by something I did or just a defec...

Sweet Motherboard

Marc P., Newegg
11 December 2013
  • Summary: I really love this motherboard
  • Pros: Besides the fact that it is aesthetically pleasing, the asus sabertooth motherboard has many features that prolong its life like the obvious thermal armor.
  • Cons: non that are really significant. although i did have some what of difficult to install my 240mm radiator fans once the board was installed except that was my cases fault.

Great Board

Tait A., Newegg
12 September 2013
  • Summary: I use all drivers from asus. I do this for my msi twin frozr II video card also.
  • Pros: runs between 90 - 100 fahrenheit
  • Cons: screwholes to mount motherboard deep within black plastic cover. might need a magnetic screwdriver, or drop screw in and align.

Great features, but check your pins!

Devon O., Newegg
11 September 2013
  • Summary: I did not manage to get any real performance out of this yet, but I can easily say that the features alone (bios flashback, thermal armor, internal fans, 1866 non-oc DDR3 speeds, and heat radar) are well worth the extra money and though it was entirely my fault that the motherboard is damaged now, I...
  • Pros: The motherboard is easy to install and definitely user-friendly. The thermal armor makes it easier to place into Full ATX towers without worrying about any fragile areas. The small fans that came with it are extremely powerful as well and the dust covers are quite convenient for your PCI or extra...
  • Cons: Upon receiving the motherboard, I installed my processor immediately. However, the CPU light maintained a solid red state. With further examination, I realized that I, the installer, managed to bend about 4 pins to an irreparable state. It wasn't just the installation that I noticed that bent the...

Better than I expected but not as good as i hoped. Still above average

Reece Ram, Amazon
3 September 2013
  • Summary: Pro The dust shield for the un-used connectors gives the board a really clean and simple look. The mother board bios is very simple to use and update. Boot up time is impressive One of the best thing is passive charging. Even if my PC is fully off it can charge my phone or wireless controllers.

Fine so far...kinda

charles s., Newegg
10 August 2013
  • Pros: Fast runs smooth, many options. thermal covering
  • Cons: again the thermal covering if you need to fix something. the usb 3.0 slots don't work even after all the drivers are updated. Seems to be a pretty common problem with this board. you have been warned!

Good Motherboard

Nicolas T., Newegg
30 July 2013
  • Pros: Good motherboard. Nice layout. The cover's seem nice in practice.
  • Cons: Wish it had more PCI-express lanes but that really requires a higher end chipset.
