Average board, nothing special with a large variety of compatibility issues

midnight_runner_77, Ebay
22 July 2014
  • Summary: This motherboard is not nearly as good as it looks and it has a ton of issues if one would really like to go truly extreme on it(I7 3960x/4960x and 32GB+ of RAM). It's major drawback is the automatic down clocking of the Extreme processor,if multipliers like 40X or higher are used it will default to...

Ships with old BIOS

Copolii, Amazon
27 March 2014
  • Summary: Was pretty disappointed to spend all the time to set up my system only to get a red blinking light on this thing. Turned out my i4930K was too new for it. Updated the BIOS and it was all good.

Nice board so far

Hook'nBull, Amazon
3 March 2014
  • Summary: Built a new PC w/an i7-4930K processor. Based on reviews, was expecting to have to flash BIOS and work out the kinks but to my surprise, everything was up to date on this board. It posted, recognized CPU, memory, HDD and SDD w/o a hitch. Loaded Win7, setup SDD caching...no problem.

Pretty good and fast once you get it to work

Tiny D "Lonely Guy 69", Amazon
31 October 2013
  • Summary: As the title states, it's really fast and awesome, when it works. Pros: quad channel ram. I'm not sure if it was that or the cpu that saved my gtx 680 from getting sold, but it runs like a champ now.

Works like a champ, shaky customer service

Mr. S, Amazon
15 October 2013
  • Summary: 8 DDR3 ram slots and 3 PCI slots are great. Although, I can never use the PCI slot 3 even if I wanted to because it sits too low and my PSU gets in the way. This board worked great for me for 11 months until a PCI slot went bad.

One of the best M/B

matt, Amazon
29 September 2013
  • Summary: There are so many options for this m/b including USB 3.0 ports. The only reason it didn't get my full 5 stars was because 1 of the ram slots wasn't working but on the other hand, this board has a 5 years warranty which is what made me buy it!

User Review

Benito_P, NCIX.com
12 July 2012
  • Summary: It is a great bargain for 325$ especially with 8dimms. Look beautiful and very sound! Had some issue with drivers but BIOS update  fix it all! I usually buy gigabyte for their cheaper prices but this time Asus did a good job!
  • Pros: Lot of features.
  • Cons: normal sound card and network card unlike the G1.Assassin 2(only 4 dimms)
