Awesome motherboard.

Joel-Rachel Guillen, Amazon
17 March 2014
  • Summary: Highly recommend this motherboard. Just built my PC a few days ago and so far so good! I won't need to upgrade for quite awhile and when I do I will definitely be sticking with ASUS.

Great Board, Note: won't do RAID 10 + 2 DVDs

Eric J., Newegg
17 January 2014
  • Summary: NOTE to users seeking to use RAID-10 with 2 DVDs. The board offers 8 SATA slots as follows:
  • Pros: Very pleased with the quality and ease of use of this board in my latest build. I'm a long-time ASUS board buyer, first time user of a ROG ASUS board. The quality and solidity of the connectors and heat spreaders on the ROG board is apparent. UEFI BIOS worked like a charm for me. RAID 10 setup was painless, with one hitch (see below). BIOS flashback and two-digit POST code displays are nice touches. Easy one-click overclocking of my Intel i7-3930K hexacore from 3.2GHz...
  • Cons: Minor con: I am running dual ASUS Radeon 7770s in Crossfire in my two PCI-E slots. The bottom card is right above the Intel X79 PCH heatsink, which tends to run a little hotter than anything else as a result, probably from poor airflow. It would be difficult to mount a fan in there. PCH runs at 102F (38C) idle, 114F (44C) under load. Not worrisome, since the fan suite sounds alarm at 140F (60C) which I have never reached, but I haven't load tested it for an hour yet.

Best platform I've ever built

7 January 2014
  • Summary: Once you press the "GO" button, I was on my way. ASUS MBs are very good. I've built at least six platforms using ASUS. Will stick with them for the next one.

Simply Amazing (but ships with old bios)

Sean F., Newegg
20 October 2013
  • Summary: Asus support was good on helping me through on the issue. They are usually pretty good once you sit through the hour hold time.
  • Pros: Overclocking on the board is AMAZING. The bios tweakabilty is incredible.
  • Cons: Shipped with an old bios that did not support the 2011 chipset. Hence it would not post, nor get video, which would probably account for the majority of these DOA complaints.
