A great, if a bit hard to get, motherboard

Dave VanHorn, Amazon
16 March 2013
  • Summary: Its availability speaks to its popularity. It's designed for more overclocking than I'll ever do. The bios is very easy to work with, and the online help in the bios is actually helpful, which in my experience is a rare thing. The connector placement is well thought out. If I needed more computers at this time, I would use this board. Ordered in February, now late June and I've been using it heavily. No regrets at all, this board has all the right stuff.

defective out of the box

MadMax "MadMax", Amazon
2 March 2013
  • Summary: Upon first post, motherboard only detected two of the three SSD's, and did not detect the optical drive. Replaced new (ASUS brand) optical drive with another working optical drive from another PC and same issue. On post got a debug code AE (Legacy boot event) There are many posts on the net about this code with the ASUS board, and unfortunately no fixes. Board looks pretty, but is not up to the usual ASUS standards.

Terrible Quality Control

Sal's Tech Review, Amazon
31 January 2013
  • Summary: Arrived DOA. Due to not having all parts, I could not return this because it was past the 30 day mark. I dealt with Asus horrific customer service, and I sent in the board. They "repaired" my board and I had received it back in working condition. Several months later, boom no post. Tried all trouble shooting and it still did not post. After searching high and low for the Asus customer service number, I contacted them.

AWESOME

Paintball Master, Amazon
28 April 2012
  • Summary: This is my first custom build that I've picked out myself. I'm very proud of it. The case it comes with makes a good pillow. If you need help, I discovered that the ROG forums are full of friendly and helpful people. The included disc is packed with goodies to get you started. I named my computer Zeus. Here's the build: 64 Bit Windows 7 Ultimate, Rampage IV Extreme motherboard, G.

A great motherboard when it works!

Elite PC Designs, Amazon
26 April 2012
  • Summary: When I got the motherboard, I opened the box and it was packed pretty well, could have been a little better though. Anyway, I popped it into the tower, hooked up everything perfectly, until it didnt turn on.. This irriitated me right away since ASUS is known for its "instant start up" quality. Well this didnt happen; I spend an hour figuring it out until i accidently hit the 24 pin connecting wires. The motherboard booted on.

This board has EVERYTHING!

Dustin Wood, Amazon
13 March 2012
  • Summary: This is the 4th PC I've built from scratch. My previous one was built 1st quarter of 2007. It was an Intel Core Duo, or Duo Core, whatever. So with this machine, I bought the best of the best. And it is one of the fastest machines out there today. So let me start off by saying, this motherboard has everything you could ever want, except firewire. It has plenty of USB ports on the back, and it has plenty of USB headers on the motherboard itself.
