Excerpt: The latest addition to Asus’ ‘Republic of Gamers’ series of ultra high-end motherboards isn’t something that an enthusiast or a hardcore gamer would expect—a micro-ATX motherboard. This time around, Asus has something to enthrall LAN party goers who prefer carrying a mini tower case instead of a bulky mid tower one. The last product we saw from the ROG series was the X58-based Rampage II Extreme for the new Intel Core i7 processors.
Excerpt: So far Intel's Core i7 platform has managed to acquire quite a few participants. In fact, all of the major players out there have X58 based boards out now and even more coming out in droves. It seems that while high in price, X58 and Core i7 has a following for being the fastest in desktop computing.
Conclusion: ASUS has another winner on their hands with the Rampage II Gene. The motherboard defies your expectations when it comes to micro-ATX motherboards. Historically micro-ATX motherboards have shipped with weak BIOS implementations that skimp on bus speeds, voltages, and other settings that are critical to successful CPU OC’ing. As a result, enthusiasts can’t wring every last MHz out of their processor.
Summary: Well, what I say about the Asus Rampage II Gene (X58) Motherboard. If you look at the results from our tests, I have to say ... it's surprisingly good and in my opinion, one of the best micro ATX motherboard I've tested to date. It produced excellent scores during our benchmarks, and came out on top against some of the X58 based motherboards we've tested.
Pros: - Excellent performance, - Excellent overclocking ability, - Intel X58 chipset, - Support all socket-1336 Core i7 processors, - Support Triple Channel DDR3 memory, - Supreme FX X-Fi HD audio, - Asus EPU 6-Engine, CPU level up, MemOK! and iROG, - Supports BOTH CrossfireX and SLI, - Comes with FREE software
Conclusion: 'Size doesn't matter' so they say and if motherboards are anything to go by and on the back of this review I would be inclined to agree. The Rampage II Gene's diminutive size is misleading as it is a very capable performer. While we did not have any other mATX boards to compare the performance of the Gene to, I am confident that the Asus motherboard would be hard to beat.
Pros: Best overclocking performance bar none, Great layout, Onboard X-FI, Onboard switches, SLI/Crossfire Capable, Fantastic BIOS

Conclusion: Po stránce výbavy nemáme co této desce vytknout.
Summary: Siamo rimasti piacevolmente sorpresi dalla
Rampage II Gene
