Summary: This PCI-E card (while I did have to reseat the card after I installed it) was seen immediately with complete access to the drive by Ubuntu, and Windows 7 (I dual-boot; Windows for games, and Ubuntu for everything else) installed the driver automatically. My external USB 3.0 drive is FAR faster than my 2.0 ones.
Summary: I put this in my hp pavilian m8350f , took about 3 minutes, intalled driver and copied a 4.25 gb movie to a wd external 3.0 hard drive in 1 minute and 50 seconds. Easy install comes with driver disc, worked immediately works fast what more do you want, buy it fool!!!!!!!!!
Summary: After experience the power of USB 3.0 from a recently purchase laptop, I installed this Asus PCIE USB3 card to my 4 year old desktop(Vista 64bit). It works great I found my self always crowing to the back of the computer to use the USB 3.0 because once you used the USB 3.0, the 2.0 is just not good enough. Easy to install. So far, very reliable and trouble free. Highly recommend it. I will be purchasing a USB 3.0 Hub to get full potential out of this unit.
Summary: I have a computer that is about 6 years old. I bought it because the computer I had before that did not have USB ports. My 6 year old computer has USB ports and I suspect they might be USB1 ports. When I download camera cards it wouls download at .9meg per second. With the new USB3 card installed and a USB3 camera card reader I am able to download at 20meg per second. This might not be any faster than USB2 with a camera card. I haven't tried that.
Summary: This little device works wonders for USB speed. The install is simple and the drivers worked for my Windows XP SP2 32 bit and Windows 7 64bit systems. I have an external hard drive enclosure with a 500gb WD drive inside and it is connected to the new USB 3.0 card. The speed difference between USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 is amazing. USB 2.0 backups of about 24gb takes about 25 minutes. With the new USB 3.0 it took just over 9 minutes!
Summary: This USB3 card works great on my M4A79XTD EVO mobo. The driver CD is up to date as of 4/5/2011. I'm mainly using this for Plugable USB 3.0/2.0 SATA Hard Drive Docking Station (LucidPort chipset) the file transfers are at the hard drive maximum speed rates. I can recommend this USB3 card.
Summary: Overall the card is quite good. After installing on Win 7 64 bit OS, there were no internal driver, so followed the info on install disk and it worked imediately. USB 3 speeds are superfast and even the USB 2 seems to improve, possibly due to using the superfast PCIe slot, it removes any bottlenecks and allows USB 2 to achieve full potential.
Pros: easy to intall slim profile which is essential to get between 2 video cards
Cons: no internal connection instructions not good for the NON-tech savy Sometimes many setups do not have a free PCIe slot due to video card overhang
