Linux in Legacy BIOS mode; Suspend to RAM works; ASUS really needs to improve the OSS / alternative OS support for 5 stars.

Michael E., Amazon
6 May 2015
  • Summary: Cons: * There was no easy way to enable UEFI booting for non-windows OSes (such as Linux installations/toolkits on USB drives). * It refuses to allow unsigned UEFI blobs/operating systems and there did not appear to be any option to allow that; not even an interactive user over-ride which might...

Five Stars

thomas dwyer, Amazon
14 January 2015
  • Summary: I love this board, but it seems you can't pass the Ethernet PCI devices into Qemu/KVM VMs with VT-d.

I ripped the foam off the I/O shield so that it would fit

Richard Ng, Amazon
10 December 2014
  • Summary: The foam on the shield seemed to be blocking so I rage quit and shamelessly ripped it off impatiently. As a beginner pc builder, I used surprising force to install the ram and to position the cpu lever back down do its designated place during cpu installation (It works with my Intel Xeon E3-1226).

Another quality Asus product!

Puff, Amazon
10 December 2013
  • Summary: Loved this board! Packed with features and the Intel P4600 graphics is holding it's own for most entry to mid level workstation use. I used it with the Xeon 1275V3 and 16GB Crucial ECC RAM. Great to start with and has a lot of upgrade potential if the work load becomes too much for it.

Solid board for GPU/Mining work

saedrin, Amazon
9 December 2013
  • Summary: Solid mining board. Paired this with 4x 290X's, a 1220v3, 8gb DDR3 ECC, and onboard RAID1 of 250GB RE4's.. Rock stable so far and no issues. The ONLY downside is that this board doesn't have IPMI.. Really hard to find a mobo with 4 real PCI-E GPU slots and IPMI though...

Fast and flexible energy conscious workstation workhorse

Mr. Nigel D. Freeney "Nigel F", Amazon
8 January 2014
  • Summary: The primary reasons for buying this motherboard were reliability and 2x Intel Gigabit networking ports. Because I need to back up a lot of data to NAS (Network Attached Storage), I needed the fastest network I could create. The two ports can be combined to create a trunked 2GB network.
