A motherboard that delivers the most bang for the buck, ASUS P8Z77-1155
9 May 2014
Summary: Decided to built a computer and after looking at what was available and what the motherboard had to offer in the way of features, the ASUS P8Z77 was the "perfect" choice. It offered more than just (2) expansion slots, 6.0Gp ports for SSD or SSHD hard drives, and everything was I.D. for easy connections. Besides, the price was just another reason for my purchase of this motherboard.
Summary: Installed Asus P8Z77-V LK Intel Z77 DDR3 LGA 1155 Motherboard, Intel Core-i5 3350P Quad-Core Processor 3.1 Ghz 6 MB Cache LGA 1155, and Kingston ValueRAM 8GB Kit (2x4GB) 1600MHz DDR3 Non - ECC CL11 DIMM SR x8 Desktop Memory KVR16N11S8K2/8. Previously installed Vertex 3 SSD by OCZ. Computer operates flawlessly and fast. Windows Experience numbers are 7.5 for CPU, 7.7 for RMA, and 7.7 for Disk. Very happy with this combination.
Summary: I just received this board, and was so pleased with it I wanted to write a review. I wanted an inexpensive motherboard with on-board video out so I could setup a Steam OS/Linux system. I installed an extra CPU I had from another motherboard (an Intel i7-2660K) into this board along with some left-over ram. The board booted first time, all functions were "go", and the Steam OS install went without any mishaps.
Summary: It's a fantastic board. The price is great for this motherboard and is great for a first time build. Can't beat the price and quality. I have been using this for a little while now and have friends who have been using this board for a while. If you're doing a build on a budget, you've found the right motherboard.
Summary: I built 2 PCs with this board. The 1st was about 1 year ago. Paired with an i5-3450, slightly overclocked ~3.9Ghz for gaming use. The 2nd one was built a few months ago. Paired with an i5-3330 for HTPC use. No Overclocking Both machines have been very stable. Love all the Video output connectors, VGA, DVI, HDMI, Display Port Love the PCI\PCIe slot arrangement My only serious complaint is about the spacing between the CPU socket and the nearest RAM slots (black).
Summary: While looking for a solid motherboard for my scrypt mining rig, I first tried AS Rock h-series. I had a bad experience (i.e. DoA) with them so went looking for other options. After researching my choices, I decided for this one based on recommendations and price. This board is great. Awesome build quality, lots of PCI-E ports, USB and LGA1155 CPU socket. This could work well for a conventional PC, a gaming rig or a mining rig. Would definitely buy again.
