Summary: Bought this as I have always bought ASUS motherboards in the past and they have been excellent and easy to fit. This one was faulty and I returned it to Amazon who within 24 hours of its return had credited my account with a refund. It wont put me of ASUS in the future as there stuff is great. 5 stars to Amazon who make returning items simple and refund immediately !
Summary: I recently had a bit of money available to upgrade my home cinema pc. So when I was hunting for a micro-atx motherboard to go with my newly acquired i7 2600k processor, this model appeared to be among the best available in its price range. Add the Asus brand name into the equation (I haven't used anything else in my last 5 builds). So when I saw this one available used for an excellent price, I couldn't pass it by.
Summary: Lots of people have reported issues with this board. Check out reviews at places like newegg. Basically, if you are unlucky enough to get a dud board, (and there seem to be a lot judging by the number of people reporting the same issue) it will frequently not power on. People have reported having to reset CMOS each time. Other have had 2 and 3 replacement boards from ASUS, and each has failed in the same way. I bought one and have had this issue.
Summary: My i7 2700k processor runs noticeably faster on this motherboard than on a motherboard in my dell xps desktop. In the dell it gets a windows index score of 7.8 whereas using the asus motherboard it gets 8.2 in windows 8. Strangely I have an i7 3770k which using the same motherboard which only scores 7.9. I think perhaps the overclocking is easier higher with the 2700k.
Summary: The asus p8z77 -m pro is a great board, having not upgraded my pc myself for many years, I was very nervous but it was so easy, up and running from start to finish in half hour :) The only thing i dont like is the on board sound, wont give me more than 2 speakers no matter what i do ? even through optical.
Summary: I spent ages researching motherboards and prompted for this one as it had all the features I wanted especially SATA 3 and USB 3. It arrived in perfect condition and fitted with little effort. This motherboard when used with a 3570K Intel i5 processor and 16mb of Corsair Vengeance RAM produced a windows experience score of 7.9.
Good Product - you get what you pay for. Power consumption a little high.

Summary: The motherboard has been stable with 32GB of Corsair XMS 1600MHz RAM for a few months now. Lucid Hydra works fine with 2 monitors and now works with Media transcoding using the accelerated Intel Media SDK after the latest update and enabling it for Mediacoder x64 Power consumption is higher than I would have liked - it uses around 75 watts from the wall on the desktop with a Radeon 6870 which is around 20W more than I expected.
Summary: Superb m/board - got it in an i5 3570k with 15gig ram, 670 GPU, and a noctua cooler and some sort of SSD, it's easing any tasks i throw at it. I think it's the cheapest SLI/CF board you'll find as well, or was, so if you want to ramp up your GPU in a few years it'll take it.
