Cross fingers you don't have to deal with Asus support
5 May 2014
Summary: It is a nice MB with a ton of features: Pros: built in bluetooth, 3 PCIex16 slots, angled sata connectors, a power button right on the board, plenty of USB ports and as many headers on the board to connect more USB ports, many hardware switches, switchable graphics, comprehensive management suite to...
Summary: Other thoughts? How about not taking the customer for granted? After receiving my board back, minus the original package I sent it in, low and behold, the identification marks I had made on it were still in place. Literally nothing was done to my board.
Pros: Insanely INSANE voltage control. It even works flawlessly in Windows. Bios was my first foray into UEFI and ASUS has made the old bios screen look amazing. A year running an i5-2500k @ 4.7ghz, I have headroom, but no point in going higher.
Cons: Still torn up about this experience. I can't give it 4 eggs. I just can't. ASUS for some reason has had trouble adapting to the immense growth it's seen in the last few years. This is obvious when observing build quality and average RMA quantity throughout the generations. This was not my first A...
Cons: Ordered the mobo with ivy bridge prosseser and sure enough got an outdated bios on the board. Save yourself the trouble until newegg says they ship only the updated board. No knocks on the board as I never used it.
Summary: This is still a good motherboard, but I think it should be a little cheaper given the few issues it has.
Pros: A lot of good features. Auto overclock for those who don't know how to do it manually (I prefer to do it manually though). Intel LAN chipset is way better than those realtek.
Cons: I would stay away from the Asus Suite. Also I get a lot of static noise from the mic input even with an external sound card. The issue is not a PSU, definetly from the motherboard. Don't relly on Asus support because you will probably know better than them. One other issue is that it won't wake u...
I'm sure it works great, but I seem to be unlucky.

Summary: I gave 2 eggs because while I seem to have gotten unlucky, I know there are lots of people who get this board and it's great. I added an additional egg because I actually got my replacement board a week after shipping back the original, as well as getting my refund approved a week after shipping...
Pros: Has everything you need in a mid-high range mobo, especially for the price. It's also Asus, which I hear makes great mobos. Great colors. Love the look, especially against red gskill ram and red geforce GPUs.
Cons: I had to replace my original because a transitor near the CPU blew up (lit up, sparked, flamed, and then instantly cooled down) when I first plugged it in. Got it replaced in a week by Newegg (props for fast service). The replaced mobo, however, was either warped or something, as it when everythi...
Summary: So, this is actually an update from my previous review, I couldn't find an option to edit the one I already wrote? Weird... Anyways, the reason the BIOS was forgetting all my settings was because they shipped it to me with no jumper on the CLRTC pins...
Pros: Again, pretty, fairly good layout (although the 8pin power connector placement is terrible...)
Cons: Still a lot of weirdness with BIOS versions, serial number when entered into ASUS site says my board is non GEN3 even though stickers and whatnot say it is GEN3, board usually turns on, and after about 5 seconds shuts off, then turns back on again and works fine.
