Summary: Board would not boot when using i3 CPU because it arrived with very old BIOS. Board would not allow online update to latest BIOS. Purchased and installed latest BIOS chip from ASUS and still would not boot using an i3 that was on their approved HCL. Called ASUS and was told.
Cons: Plugged everything and will not post, no beep, the case and cpu fan runs. Cleared the cmos, plugged in a video card, used the board video port, removed the battery, reseated the memory, reseated the power connectors on both 24 and 8 pin. Made sure the memory module matched from ASUS website. All ...
Summary: First Asus board I received was defective right out of the box, second board worked for about 1 day then the board self destructed and took my intel i5 CPU with it. Tried to call the manufacturer and the # that was provided was disconnected....spend your $ on something that works.
Summary: new egg got the board to me very fast kudos to them.. how ever intel and its bad pci ivy bridge .
Pros: great looking bios, easy to use bios, and great overclocking tools.
Cons: After my sound card didn't work like it use to on the old motherboard i did some research. and all over the internet sound card users are having the same dam problem with ivy bridge...intel dropped the ball hard. i plan to return the board.. PCI lanes are not no good for music recording or playba...
Summary: I got this board for a new rig. 1st one I got had Dimm slots 3 and 4 DEAD. Contacted Asus support they agreed the slots were dead. Contacted Amazon they quickly replaced the board. After 1 week I lost A sata 2 drive. After ensuring I had the latest drivers, contacted Asus they had no answers.
Cons: I bought this from Newegg with a $10 MIR, requiring the UPC code be sent in with the rebate form. I installed the MB and had problems with the SATA controller. After 3 days of working with ASUS tech support, I was told to return the MB to NEWEGG. In the mean time, I sent in the MIR with the UPC c...
Summary: at first I got a RAM beep code, but this went away after re-seating.
Pros: Decent price for z68; nice feature set.
Cons: NO POST. Everything powers up, and I'm not getting any post error beeps, but my monitor never receives a signal from the board, and i get no POST pass beep. Have emailed Newegg_ASUS_MBSupport@asus.com, but no response so far.
Summary: I actually have the P8P67 (REV 3.0) version of this design. Worked great until I added memory and hit the mem OK button. Flame shot from under the board. Best part was that ASUS said it wasn't covered by warranty because it was physical damage (though the board started the fire).
Summary: I have been a loyal ASUS customer for several years but always using their performance line (Rampage etc..) Went to build a workstation for my girlfriend and figured she didn't need lots of bells and whistles. First DOA ASUS board but it seems to be a trend on their lower end models
Pros: Good motherboard for the price
Cons: DOA. Returned it and am going with a different brand. It seems that a lot of the sub $150 Asus boards have been DOA or otherwise defective.
