Died after 3 1/2 years

MICHAEL B., Newegg
19 January 2015
  • Pros: Worked well until it died.
  • Cons: Software bundled with is useless. RMA from ASUS and they wanted more than the cost of a new one to repair it. It only lasted 3 years, 7 months, 17 days before it died. I will not puchase another ASUS product.

Giving it the Re-boot!

Mark O., Newegg
5 July 2012
  • Pros: Started out to be a great MB
  • Cons: After about a month is started to randomly reboot. It would do that for a couple of days then be ok for a couple of days. Didn't know what to think. Spent the next couple of months re-installing windows, drivers, resetting the whole MB, etc. Followed all the online suggestions. Found it's a probl...

Bad Board...Not quite Asus's fault..

George H., Newegg
9 March 2012
  • Summary: I accept that fact that a bad part can slip out the door even if it is new. It is going to happen. And that's fine with me as long as it is taken care of. Which Newegg does that just fine....sorta. The board I received was obviously returned by someone else and repackaged as new.
  • Pros: I have used the board in the past and must say it is a great board. Asus Tech support was great with this issue I must say.
  • Cons: I have sent an email to Newegg but I am sure it will be ignored. I hate to give the overall product a low score since I mostly blame newegg. Here is my situation: I noticed after removing the motherboard to prepare for return that it had been previously handled by looking at the bottom. There wer...

This board is nothing but trouble

Sonny R., Newegg
26 February 2012
  • Summary: I really want to get one that works with no problems. I'm eager to use my new PC. This motherboard has been the only setback. To anyone thinking about purchasing this: just buy the deluxe edition or the EVO. Both are less likely to ship with defects.
  • Pros: Slick BIOS, easy to set up, great manual, and looks very nice.
  • Cons: I received two defective boards. It had a lot to do with memory detections issues. The two boards I received had faulty memory slots. The first board I received wouldn't even boot up. I was able to get an advanced RMA from Newegg, thankfully. The second one booted up, but failed shortly after try...

board was DOA

Gary L., Newegg
15 February 2012
  • Summary: The 2 eggs are basically for the name. Without having used this particular board yet, I have no rating for performance yet.
  • Pros: Solid construction. Easy access to connectors/pins. Been using them for years.
  • Cons: Having used Asus products for years I had no hesitation with this board. However, it was DOA. I am in the process of returning it but since it goes to CA, I'll be waiting a while. Hopefully the next one works fine.

Worked great for 6 months...

Ryan Z., Newegg
15 February 2012
  • Summary: Frustrated, I use this desktop for school and this is happening in a time period in which I have a ton of programming to do.
  • Pros: Great easy to use BIOS, worked really well while it lasted.
  • Cons: Woke up this morning with my desktop having restarted itself and no video feed, not to mention it would not go to the BIOS yet alone boot up windows (I could tell via my G510). Troubleshooted everything in the case and came to the conclusion it had to be the mobo. The only indication of a problem...

User Review

William W., Newegg
12 February 2012
  • Pros: It Some what works. Only with 8 gigs of ram
  • Cons: Says it supports up to 16 gigs of ram. I have 16 installed and it gives me random memory crashes. I moved the ram around and it still does it. If I just have 8 gigs mobo works great

Very Sad

Anonymous, Newegg
4 February 2012
  • Summary: I will update this 2nd review again in the coming weeks. The RMA process has started...after reading some recent reviews from Asus, i'm a bit worried. I took many digital photos of the motherboard to ensure no physical damage was done.
  • Pros: I got this board a couple months ago and was thrilled with it. Unfortunately I started to realize within a few days something was wrong. Lot of quirks like system shutdowns etc. When it ran, it ran good. It finally died only after a couple months, real big headache.
  • Cons: Board died very tragic death only after a couple months. (every other piece of hardware was checked in another system, and everything was top notch, plenty of power on power supply top notch power supply)I will update this review once new motherboard is received from Asus.

Good board, but first was DOA.

Anonymous, Newegg
27 January 2012
  • Summary: It was my first time RMAing, and I must say that Newegg was quite efficient and co-operative.
  • Pros: Easy to troubleshoot. Second one has worked fine so far.
  • Cons: 1st one I received was defective. The board appeared to be running, but it would turn itself off after about ten seconds, and then reboot. Never received a video signal; tested the graphics card on different ports and it worked on other computers, so that wasn't the problem. Thought it might be a...

2 months in - Problems

Anonymous, Newegg
16 January 2012
  • Summary: Only good thing is them sending a replacement and giving me 14 days to return the old. Holding my breath...
  • Pros: Great board while it works.
  • Cons: Started with hard drives showing up as removable, then some USB ports wouldn't work after booting, then PCIe port would intermittently fail. ASUS CSR said there is no "known" issue with rev 3.1 but if you google it, lotsa problems.
