No overclocking

Jacques W., Newegg
7 July 2012
  • Pros: Inexpensive
  • Cons: It will overclock, but it wil not hold the overclock more than five minutes. The four phase VRM are totally inadequate. They overheat extremely and throttle the overclock back to 3.4 Ghz. It's a great board if you ain't gonna O.C. At least get the vannila P8P67 MB if you're gonna overclock. I did.

Garbage. Do not get.

Jonathan G., Newegg
7 December 2011
  • Summary: Build: i5 2500k Gigabyte 560Ti Vertex OCZ plus 120gb 8gb Patriot Viper @ 1600 Hz Silent Power 760w power supply
  • Pros: Graphic Bios, with mouse, really easy to use. Automatic overclocking works well, took an i5 2500k to from 3.3 4.2gHz by itself. Layout allows for a pretty large CPU cooler.
  • Cons: First board I had was DoA. Granted, so was the power supply, and it may have fried it, so I'm not going to dock any eggs for this. Resets twice for every cold boot. I bought an SSD so I could boot quickly, now it takes me twice as long to post as it does to load windows. On top of the double rese...

Not as up to date as you would expect

Philip M., Newegg
24 November 2011
  • Summary: I'm paying close attention to the numerous DOA reports that Asus is still accumulating. I consider copy/paste replies from Asus representatives horribly patronizing. "Too big to fail" and too removed from the action to survive. Asus, your replies show your lack of care.
  • Pros: Nice reviews ....
  • Cons: Where is the USB3 "connection to motherboard" for current boxes that sport USB3 on the front panels? Too bad Asus, that's a huge FAIL.

Poor quality

Tom H., Newegg
17 November 2011
  • Summary: I'm really shocked I had so much trouble with this board. I returned it after about 3 weeks. System is running great now with another board and otherwise identical hardware.
  • Pros: I bought this board because it was one of the only P67 boards I found with a PATA connector, firewire, and eSata. The dense feature list makes it attractive. Many comments here complain that the BIOS limits the overclocking ability. I don't mind the BIOS. I was able to get a stable overclock of a...
  • Cons: However, after a few minutes running above 4.2 GHz, the CPU would be throttled down. Using an IR thermometer, I discovered the VRM was overheating. The VRM design is very low quality. They really shouldn't be advertising overclocking features because this board can't handle it. The combination of...

Bad Board

Kevin B., Newegg
11 October 2011
  • Pros: None.
  • Cons: This is a bad board. I wished I would have looked at the review more carefully before buying. Double boots (posts) each time PC starts Bad PCI Express 16 - No Video - monitor shows nothing. Bad Memory Slots - None of the memory slots would recognized the memory. I am RMA this board. This is the f...

Garbage

Cory H., Newegg
9 October 2011
  • Summary: If this is your first time building a PC from scratch. STAY AWAY. This thing has turned me off from building a PC ever again. I literally want to this thing out back and shoot it. It's a complete waste of money. Get a motherboard that actually works. I'm taking mine to a professional.
  • Pros: Nothing
  • Cons: This piece of garbage is nothing but a nightmare. I couldnt get my PC to boot. I took out one ram card and it finally booted. But now when ever I install windows and reboot, it wont run. Not mention it always double posts. Just google this garbage and you'll see how many people can't get it to work.

20 September 2011
  • Summary: its a good board (when it works) Hopefully Newegg will be fast with the RMA.
  • Pros: Great bios, does what it says.
  • Cons: I Keep getting Blue screens when i have 2 sticks of ram in. I Have tested both sticks and it isnt a ram problem, i can only run without blue screens when i only have 1 stick of ram in. (either stick). also when i boot up somtimes it sticks at the windows screen. I have tried 2 HDD so it isnt a Ha...

Problems, Problems, Problems

Brandon G., Newegg
10 September 2011
  • Summary: I even tried flashing to the latest BIOS off of the Asus website - didn't fix any of the issues! Would suggest avoiding this board. The board I used is Revision 3.0 which is the latest board out at the time of writing. I ended up going with an Intel board.
  • Pros: Cool looking. The UEFI BIOS replacement has some neat features and looks cool but lacks a lot of common options found in even the ancient BIOS system.
  • Cons: As others have mentioned, 2 out of 4 memory slots did not work. Tried 3 different sets of memory (4x 4GB Crucial Ballistix DDR3-1600, 4x 4GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600, 4x 4GB Super Talent DDR3-1333) sticks in various configurations (Four sticks, two sticks in different slots, one stick alone) a...

User Review

Travis K., Newegg
2 September 2011
  • Summary: There was extensive time and energy spent on diagnosis of these problems. Much heartburn, much. I bought a different board to replace it during the repair period, everything works flawlessly, I wont be reinstalling it.
  • Pros: Inexpensive Typically a decent brand. Its so pretty...
  • Cons: First ASUS board I have used. It totally dropped all PCI slots shortly after installing OS. Newegg is awesome about returns. I got the replacement board that worked for a few weeks before ignoring usb ports and disallowing drivers, intermittently failing to recognize sata and double POSTing every...
