Summary: first of all, I bought this mobo in 2011. A few days ago this piece of metal die in my hands suddenly. The DRAM led light turned on and all i got was a black screen in my monitor. I tried everything and nothing works. I search in google for a solution and for my surprise, this motherboard series is doomed. Tons of posts and videos form many users suffering like me. So i will never buy again an asus product. AVOID IT.
Summary: I bought this board when it was first released about a year ago. There were some issues with the BIOS and overclocking, but after a couple updates it was very flexible. I unfortunately had to deal with the whole "B3" revision fiasco, but Asus swapped the board out and it was a fairly seamless process.
Summary: This is a great motherboard for the price. I am new to building computers. This mobo can overclock(i overclocked my i72600k to 4.7ghz and was stable in a matter of minutes with this mobo, but don't need the extra power and heat so put it back), infarct it makes it very easy in the bios or in windows. You only have to make sure you switch to advanced bios!!! once switched once and saved and exited every time you re-enter you re-enter in advanced mode.
Summary: My previous mobo ate it, and I had to get something quickly with limited funds, so I took a chance with this puppy and an Intel i5 2500k and 8gigs of ddr3 ram from Corsair. That was six months ago. I get a bsod one every six weeks maybe, but I reboot and everything's fine (and I do leave the rig running 24/7). I haven't had a single hiccup otherwise, and overall I have nothing but good things to say about the whole package, which I bought here at Amazon.
Summary: A lot of people complain about this board because it does not overclock. In fact this is true it won't overclock, but it will overclock your Turbo automatically. Whenever I play games at 1920 x 1200 resolution this makes my i5-2500k oc to 4.3ghz, and seeing as how gaming is really the only demanding thing I do... this worked out great for me. my hyper 212+ fits it just fine as well. my idle temp for i5-2500k is around 19 celsius...
Summary: For an upper-mid quality machine, this is an excellent board. Running at 4GHz stable with an Intel Core i5-2500K Processor 3.3GHz 6 MB Cache Socket LGA1155 voltage is not adjustable in the AI windows utility, but is adjustable in the manual settings of the EFI BIOS. Instructions for using the manual settings are, however, confusing and you are better off googling to bring this board to its true potential.
Summary: I bought this motherboard with a new i5 2500k, and expected to be overclocking that bad boy processor at 5.0ghz in no time. I was wrong. :( Disturbingly, regulating the stock voltages is not allowed in this base model motherboard, and has been consciously left out of the BIOS by Asus, thus effectively crippling the overclocking potential. This would be like Chevrolet leaving seat belts out of your R/S Camaro in order to get you to buy an Iroc-Z.
