Don't count on tech support from ASUS

Anonymous, Newegg
28 February 2014
  • Pros: Didn't have the mobo for that long to identify definite pros.
  • Cons: ASUS support was just a joke: phone conversation was constantly breaking up even though I was calling from a landline. Online chat was not available on at least two occasions during advertised hours due to "severe weather conditions". Once finally connected to online chat, answered all questions ...

Good, but frustrating.

Jill S., Newegg
14 January 2014
  • Pros: Looks good, everything appears to be working.
  • Cons: Really not happy that there is only 1 Case fan. I suppose that is my fault for not looking for that in the first place.

Okay board, great value

Louis B., Newegg
12 December 2013
  • Summary: Overall this is a very average board. Asus quality assures me that this will continue to function long after the components connected to it are obsolete. This is no frills or extra special features, and for the price paid you shouldn't expect any.
  • Pros: This board is the foundation for a design and drafting computer and has given me no problems. The quality is up to Asus standards.
  • Cons: As long as you know that the board has only 2 fan connectors and is undersized then there really is no con.

  • Summary: Would be nice if onboard video worked, but it's not the end of world. Have been using ASUS motherboards for last 5 years(about 50-70 new builds a year) and so far this is maybe 2-nd or third time I'm having a little issue with them.
  • Pros: ASUS Brand. SATA 6 Gb ports. USB3 and HDMI connector. Also it has onboard USB 3 connector, which is nice if you have a case with front USB 3 ports. Support for 32 GB RAM. Was very easy to configure RAID. Bought this for a new build PC, that is going to be a basic Server.
  • Cons: Was DOA. Turned out to be onboard Video, which makes onboard HDMI(as well as VGA or DVI) useless. Did not bother to RMA, instead just installed low grade Add-on Video card.

2 RAM slots died after 3 months

Colton S., Newegg
22 April 2013
  • Summary: It's listed in the specs so it doesnt qualify as a con, but you can not SLI, Crossfire, or overclock with this board.
  • Pros: -Worked well out of the box -Good GUI for the BIOS -Ran a RAID 0 config flawlessly
  • Cons: After about 3 months of owning it, one day it would not boot. Did basic troubleshooting until I discovered that if there was any RAM in slots A1 or B1, it would not boot. Verified that there were no obstructions and that all the RAM functioned properly. Although it could have been an issue with t...

1 stupid design flaw

Steve B., Newegg
7 December 2012
  • Pros: Nice board for the price. Typical ASUS quality
  • Cons: They put one of the PCI-E slots right next to the primary PCI-E video card slot so if you have a typical wide video card you can't access that slot. Very poor design. It has 3 PCI slots. They should have put one of THOSE next to the video card instead of the PCI-E slot. This only impacts me becau...

P8H77-V - Good, but not what I wanted

VALERIE B., Newegg
28 October 2012
  • Pros: The motherboard is quite painless to install, as well it has a nice set of features within the UEFI Bios to utilize. First Intel board, and the performance with the 3550 3.3ghz Ivy Bridge is amazing with this board. It's set with turbo mode to auto-clock or dynamically over or under clock based o...
  • Cons: - The green output audio controller/jack did not work what so ever. Reinstall driver several times, tried multiple devices .The result was always static output. - This one is my own fault(therefore I will not deduct an egg), but it didn't have the overclocking features I thought it did. When it f...

  • Summary: Audio problem is pretty huge and hopefully someone at Asus can help fix this problem.
  • Pros: Fits my Intel i5 2500k perfectly and CM 212 heatsink, all of my RAM works great and rather easy to set up.
  • Cons: Audio seems to be messed up with perfect quality in one side and in the other choppy/static or just nothing at all.

90% great

Rick S., Amazon
5 June 2012
  • Summary: Built my new PC with this board and it works very well ......except that the integrated graphics driver fails repeatedly causing me to reboot. I plan on adding a high end graphics card soon, so it's not the end of the world, but I expected better.
