Summary: I've heard about compatibility issues when selecting memory for this board. I have 2x4gb of corsair vengence that works perfectly if anyone is concerned about this issue. Processor is also an i3 3240.
Pros: -UEFI bios are awesome, as expected from asus
Summary: So our customer has been without there new computer for over a month now. And it is making my company look bad. So if you are expecting any warranty to be honored on this PC...DON'T buy it!
Pros: I couldn't tell you any, it did not run long enough
Cons: Hard drive did 2 weeks after install. Well first Newegg said it was not eligible for return even though it had not been 30 days. I then called ASUS, first they said to RMA it through Newegg. Then they would not acknowledge that it had a warranty(so much for a 3 yr. next biz day). Then they started to ask questions like It is not used in a commercial environment? It is a business class machine where do you think it will be used?
Pros: This is a good board and does what it should do at its price point, but it has problems with stability if you don't use the proper memory. Otherwise, the board handled well.
Cons: I tried the board with two types of G SKILL memory, and had serious issues. The G SKILL ripsaws were better than the G SKILL modules without a heat spreader, but I still had intermittent crashes. The G SKILL memory without the heat spreader was very very unstable.
Summary: Newegg should specify if Windows is 32 or 64 bit.
Pros: Great configuration for the money.
Cons: Got 3 computers for my office. Poor job with the description saying that it is coming with Windows 7 Pro, not specified 64 bit. Calling the customer service is a joke, called 5 times to get the COA for the windows and finally the guy says to me that computers do not come with product key and I have to return the units. If you need to call them for a technical support, be patient, maybe after the 3rd call they will answer. If you want to reinstall Win7 good luck.
Summary: I would recommend these to anyone looking for a solid workstation especially if XP Mode is something you are looking at implementing into your infrastructure.
Pros: Nice form factor, good quality on the peripherals, and components, glad it was still available with Win7 and not win8. I have these boxes configured to run XP-Mode for legacy software, and they operate flawlessly (and if you know anything about XP-Mode that is no easy feat), all around solid machine. Com ports(Yay), comes with a nice lightweight Asus Mouse pad, Packaged well, also the asus utilities are great for troubleshooting and monitoring these systems, as well a...
Cons: OS install has a very major flaw, that was an semi easy fix. I hooked 5 up to a kvm switch on a workbench, to configure all the boxes at the same time. Powered all of them on at the same time but only box 1 recognized the Keyboard and mouse and the rest did not and a restart did not reconize the peripherials or ps2 KB/Mouse. So to fix this it required a recovery boot pre install to restore the system boot option, one at a time that amounted to 4 extra hours per box ju...
