Very cheap and useful for the price!

Edwin T., Newegg
  • Pros: Its lightweight but packs a performance punch, built in overclock gives performance a quick boost, and its a cheap MOBO
  • Cons: Too small for a micro ATX, i feel i have had bigger micro ATX boards, the SATA ports on the top face is a horrible design choice, had to opt out of using and extra HDD because then my video card couldn't fit because of the heat sink, and one SATA port is kind of sideways because of that, so to st...

This installation went in well. But for some reason ...

  • Summary: This installation went in well. But for some reason, I cannot get Windows to load on it properly. It starts the install process, then all of a sudden it reboots. I'll take it to the local computer shop to see what component, if any is causing the problem.

was once a good board...

Kevin B., Newegg
6 October 2014
  • Pros: Was using this board in quite a few builds for customer sites. Worked wonderfully for the price, however....
  • Cons: In the last several months, I've been getting and aweful failure rate (I think it'd be generous to say 50%). Last straw was today when I used a brand new one to replace a failed one and it would not get passed the BIOS splash screen. Tired of wasting time and money, so I'm going to try a differen...

Budget board with a few issues

CountChoculitis, Amazon
6 March 2013
  • Summary: I am actually still using this board paired with a i3 2120, 16gb of 1333 ram, and a GTX 660 for a budget build. The problem is with the voltages and turbo. According to hardware monitor and CPU-Z the voltages fluctuate a lot and fan speeds for my CPU and chassis fan register as 0 a lot of the time.

Worked for 10 months

Billy G., Newegg
30 April 2012
  • Pros: ran great for 10 months, I was bound to get a bad one eventually.
  • Cons: Seemed like a good board but at the 9 month mark the onboard network adapter stopped working, no biggie, installed a pci ethernet card. 3 weeks later the onboard sound went toes up....hmmm only one pci slot. No where to add a sound card. DOH! In the process of seeing how good Asus Warranty is.

Bah Humbug to Graphical BIOS

Martin U., Newegg
23 November 2011
  • Summary: I would love to know if anyone else is using and old-fashioned VGA monitor to configure this mobo. I don't really believe the ASUS tech and don't want to go through the hassle and expense of an exchange just to get another mobo that does exactly the same thing.
  • Pros: With an i3-2120 Sandy Bridge @3.3GHz, 8GB Mushkin RAM and Kingston SSD boot drive, from power-off Windows 7 is ready to use in <30secs. Everything seems to run cool.
  • Cons: I hooked it up to the old Dell M1990 monitor (using VGA d-sub) on my bench and found that the graphical BIOS setup program was only showing me the upper left corner of the screen, making it impossible to configure the system. After Googling to no avail, called ASUS tech support. The tech had me r...
