[Review] ASUS P7H55D-M EVO “Can You Say HTPC?”

22 October 2010
  • Conclusion: ASUS seems to have separated themselves from the majority of the pack by taking the H55 and kicking it up a notch. Until recently AMD had pretty much ruled the HTPC market with a strong performing integrated graphics solution and the XXXe line of processors. Well, things change. Enter the Intel H55 chipset, the Intel i3 and i5 processors with 533-900 MHz IGP clocks that perform as well or better than their AMD counterparts.

ASUS P7H55D-M Evo LGA1156 Motherboard

13 September 2010
  • Excerpt: It seems that as of lately, the options for motherboards is growing rapidly. Trying to sit down and decide what CPU and motherboard combination you want to use in your next build just might be the biggest challenge yet. Not long ago I took a look at the Asus Sabertooth 55i motherboard (P55 based) and thought this time around a H55 would be in order. So, Asus sent off their P7H55D-M Evo LGA1156 motherboard for me to play with.
  • Pros: Acceptable Price Range., Good looking board layout and color scheme., Capable of being very efficient., Plentiful options in the BIOS., Overclocking with ease., Great performance.
  • Cons: I have no complaints.

Benchmark Reviews
6 March 2010
  • Conclusion: This is my first formal motherboard review, so the only context I have is my own experience with motherboards, which in the past 18 months or so has been with three X58 motherboards and a single enthusiast-level ASUS P55 motherboard. This probably prejudiced me going into this review, since I prefer high-end products and didn't see the ASUS P7H55D-M EVO as such. But after testing, I was very impressed by this product.
  • Pros: 8+3 phase power delivery, 8-pin EPS-12V connector, Solid capacitors and ferrite core chokes, Many overclocking features such as Mem-OK button, SuperSpeed USB-3.0 ports, Enhanced Ethernet and audio support, 3-year product warranty, Lots of overclocking headroom
  • Cons: No on-board power, reset, and clear CMOS buttons, Some parts of the BIOS are undocumented, Large CPU coolers may interfere with first two RAM sockets, H55 chipset lacks RAID and AHCI storage support

ASUS P7H55D-M EVO Intel H55 mATX Motherboard Review

9 February 2010
  • Summary: Conclusions I had no idea what to expect from the new i5 processors and the H55 chipset. On-die graphics processing is a new concept and I could envision any number of issues that could have made it undesirable. But those issues never surfaced. Though the 3D graphics leave much to be desired, all other graphics performance were fine, which make the pair excellent for HTPC and non-gaming enthusiast’s rigs.
  • Pros: – High performance and stability, – Small footprint desirable for HTPC or nongaming enthusiast rig, – BIOS very overclockfriendly, – Excellent overclocker
  • Cons: – None

Silent PC
1 February 2010
  • Summary: The Asus P7H55D-M EVO is a very solid board with a good layout and plenty of features including eSATA, FireWire and USB 3.0, though it lacks RAID as the chipset does not support it. Compared to the Intel DH55TC, it offers a lot more features and uses higher quality components including better inductors, more solid-state capacitors, and VRM heatsinks.
  • Pros: eSATA, FireWire, USB 3.0, Liberal BIOS options for overclockers and undervolters
  • Cons: Higher power consumption than DH55TC, Price

Asus P7H55D-M EVO

18 November 2014

Asus P7H55D-M Evo

21 December 2010
  • Conclusion: Asus P7H55D-M Evo to płyta z podstawką LGA1156, wykonana w formacie Micro-ATX i pracująca z nowym chipsetem Intel H55. Mimo małego formatu płyta posiada dużo gniazd i rozwiązań typowych dla większych konstrukcji. Zastosowany chipset Intel H55 pozwala na instalację procesorów Intel Core i7 800, Core i5 i Core i3. Chipset powstał głównie z myślą o procesorach ze zintegrowanym układem graficznym.
  • Pros: Bardzo dobra jakość wykonania, Dużo złącz i gniazd, Dużo dodatkowych funkcji, Dobra do podkręcania procesora, USB 3.0
  • Cons: Znaczących brak
