  • Excerpt: When X58 was first announced there were rumours about its graphics card support. Would it get SLI approval from NVIDIA and would it still support Crossfire? - Originally NVIDIA specified that X58 would need to use an nForce 200 PCIe bridge chip to run SLI, but a lot of pressure was put on NVIDIA from all of the motherboard companies and SLI support was granted to X58 through a native setup allowing two or three cards.

Overclocking workstation motherboard: ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution

  • Conclusion: This has been quite a wild ride, and Core i7 CPU generation is really quite different to their older Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Quad brothers. Reaching QPI wall is relatively easy and then you're mostly done with overclocking as you're entering pretty dangerous grounds if you overdo things with voltages. ASUS's motherboard coped very well with that, apart from the single memory glitch issue we had.

Asus P6T6 WS Revolution Core i7 Motherboard

HotHardware

  • Excerpt: When we think about what is perhaps the one draw-back that enthusiasts and gamers could point to with respect to an Intel chipset-based motherboard, historically, it was lack of NVIDIA SLI multi-GPU support.  Though you could drop more than one AMD ATI Radeon-based graphics card into a P45, X38 or X48-chipset based motherboard, for the most part, SLI was a no-go, save perhaps for a few custom OEM solutions.
  • Pros:   Top-Notch Core i7/X58 performance,   Nice bundle of accoutrements,   Great overclocking, killer BIOS,   Great expansion options for PCIe, •
  • Cons:   One of the most expensive X58 boards now,   No performance gain for three-X16 3-Way SLI,   No external clear CMOS switch

This time it's the new motherboard which will make most of over... The best motherboard doesn’t necessarily have to be the one that has the most of everything, simply because some of us don’t use a great number of capabilities that a device has. True, we would all pr...

Asus P6T6 WS Revolution : très haut de gamme

PC World
24 March 2009
