Summary: I bought this board to replace an EVGA X58 FTW3 board which I suspected might be causing my hard drives to fail (5 bad drives in 2 months) but apparently it was just bad drives. On the plus side, it's a well constructed board and is very stable running my Intel 970 chip. On the minus side, there is no bios step indicator like the EVGA, and only 2 slots to save bios settings.
Summary: I bought a system with this MB and I couldn't get it to write DVD's. I tried 3 DVD burners, 3 brands of DVD, 3 O/S's, WinXP, Win7, MS-DOS, and 3 different programs without success. I finally bought another full system with a Gigabyte MB which ran perfectly. I then replaced the Asus with an identical Gigabyte.
bought as "new" but received as questionable "new" or "used"

Summary: I ordered the item as "new" but I received the item without any tape or original wrapping, it was just in the original box and placed in the amazon shipping box. It looked new to me so I used it, to avoid the hassel of returning it and waiting for a new item to come. Just thought it was weird that it didnt come wrapped up as if you were buying it new from a store.
